After you locked it, you cannot open it!

I am not using this for its travel security purpose, instead using it for a file cabinet lock. With the file cabinet I have I had to do a significant modification to the cabinet frame to use the lock. After that one lock can secure two file drawers against people with casual curiosity but it would not be secure against a determined assault with crowbars, etc. Since the key is very simple profile that is also a weekpoint for my use but probably not a problems for the travel security purpose. The product does what I expected and I would buy it again.

Works as advertised. Better with doors without trim so it sits flush. Even with trim it works well.

I would of liked the same device without the need of a key to get out, otherwise It works just as promised

Two of the three locks did not work properly! Returned all three for a refund. I use an identical lock that I've had for over 25 years without any problem, so the manufacturing standards must have gone south (or east).

I searched Home Depot's website for a lock for bi-fold closet doors and this came up. I bought it but then found it doesn't work for this purpose. I'm saving it to try as a travel lock for hotel drawers. It still might be useful - we'll see.

A self-controlled travel lock is very valuable and they are hard to find. This one does the job in multiple circumstances.

I live in an apartment and wanted extra security for my hall closet and this lock works perfectly!

The only thing I can say is, this is more for a drawer, and I needed it for a door! So, I had to bend it to fit! This was the closest lock I could find to fit my need! Ordering from home depot was easy and cost effective!

This was exactly what I needed so I ignored the bad reviews thinking they may have just gotten a bad one. Wrong, the lock turned out to be useless. The lock does not lock on the bar and slides off when the door is opened.

It is so easy to apply and remove, and you can pack it for a trip!

The bar on these locks is nice and long, so it's easy to fit them to a variety of drawers. I haven't been able to try them on sliding doors, but I imagine they would work on those as well, since the horizontal slot is fairly close to one edge of the plate. My suggestion to Home Depot is that they include some option for ordering multiple locks keyed alike. That would have been really helpful in my situation.

This requires a drawer or a door without a lip to work. I took it on vacation and could not find a drawer on which it would work. Limited value

Locking pin that holds the lock together falls out and the whole lock comes apart. I had to glue it in.

i was not able to keep lock secure. it keep sliding off even when it was locked. slides right off teeth thats post to hold it in place. i might have a bad one but will never buy anything like this kind again. if i return it from online i have to pay return shipping cant return to store. i will just end up keeping it n maybe in a few weeks it will end up in trash. if you plan buying it ask store to order for u so u can return it to store. ask if u can do this first before ordering. had other people try to lock it with same resalts keep sliding off teeth that holds lock in place so it was not just me. does not work.

MY APARTMENT STORAGE UNIT HAS NO LOCK. THIS LOCK SECURES THE SWINGING DOOR WHEN I AM NOT AROUND. IT DOES EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED IT TO DO.
