The tool performed exactly as it was supposed to, cut and lifted the sod. Make no no mistake, this is an old school tool. If you wanted fast or easy, don’t buy one of these it may be cordless but it’s not battery powered or remote control . Blisters, sweat , and pain will be involved.

The bully tool, sod lifter works like a charm! We cleaned our grass covered sidewalks off. Amazing job!

The tool works well for what it is designed to do. Tempered steel handle assures it won't bend under stress. But, make no mistake, lifting sod sections is not easy or for the faint of heart. Still very hard hard work.

This is better for removing sod than a spade, but it’s still difficult to use primarily because of its very dull edge. But it is made well.

The shovel made removing sod much easier. The only part that could be improved was the width of the cut. It needed to be wider.

Well made tool and does what it is intended to do for small areas or fine detailing. It was especially handy to have for cutting odd shaped areas that the gas powered sod cutter we rented could not do or missed.

Ordered this after my ancient sod lifter broke. Light - and so much easier to use - yet sturdy, and the grip handle is a very nice feature. Just finished a several day project lifting all the sod in my 2000 sq foot back yard using this tool, with no complaints. Highly recommended. Kudos, too, to Home Depot for a quick delivery - a day earlier than expected - and service.

Doesn’t cut well in the Texas clay.

Not what I expected, or I did not know how to use it. I wanted a tool to help dig out sod in squares and move, after cutting an edge. This did not work under the sod to lift it up, or it took much more upper body strength than I have so I was not helpful at all in the task I had.

This product seems to be well built. I have only had it a month and used it mostly as an edging tool. I feel the only thing that could be improved is the sharpness of the tool from the factory. It can easily be sharpened with a file or grinder though so this may be a personal preference. I am very happy with the product.

This is a GREAT tool and worth the purchase! If you need to remove sod and don’t want to rent a powered sod cutter, this does the trick. It cuts the sod right at the root level and works MUCH better and more efficiently than a spade or shovel. If you have A LOT of sod to remove, then renting a powered sod cutter is probably better. I definitely recommend this product and am very glad I purchased it.

Great tool for edging and pulling up sections of grass. I use it when creating flower beds to remove any existing grass and making a defined line that makes it easy to install edging.
