The aluminum framing is larger to allow it to fit to our customer's custom opening sizes. Especially our sliding doors typically fit ranges (such as 40-44"), which means the frame will have to be cut to the specific opening size the homeowner have. Hi John, thank you for your feedback. We are not entirely sure what you are unhappy with. The framing is provided in a longer size to accommodate different out-of-plumb conditions and provide adjustment for different opening widths. We also offer the same model in other sizes, which includes larger enclosures, and therefore larger glass panels. This allows a one-part solution to fit the same model across different sizes.
