My fence was old and blemished but sturdy, so I gave my yard a facelif with a new fence facade. The four pack delivery made it easy. LOVE!

I am in my 70's and was able to put the fencing up myself. I used it to cover the fence on the inside of the yard. I get a lot of compliments from the relatives. I have used this fencing before, it lasted about 8 years, it will turn grey after a few years, but I wanted a newer look for the yard and it is inexpensive.

So I didn’t use this for fencing I put it on the ceiling of my sunroom with bamboo. Gives it the grass Hut feel, turned out great

Excellent value. Lasts more than one season.Double up with the back side turned to slight angle and it' not able to be seen through. five star product in my home owner opinion.

If you want privacy you will need to layer 3 to 4 on top of each other. I live in a major city and am fortunate to have a pretty expansive outdoor space. That said there is little privacy and the idea is really to put some space between me and the massive congestion around me, which includes not making eye contact with people sitting in garbage alleys as i am making my morning coffee. Hence I got these reeds. And i layered two together on each side of my deck (about 15 ft long each way) and I still see said alley dweller(s). So i am buying a tarp to add over instead of more reeds. Hopefully that lets me enjoy the expansive (and expensive) space I am paying obscene rent for. Moral of story: at max 8 feet you could use two, folding each over, and inturn yield 4 layers of reed, giving you privacy. Otherwise layer more accordingly.

We used this as a pergola cover instead of fencing. Covers great offers nice filtered shade. We are pleased with it so far. Great find! Items arrived as described and as promised.

I have used this product for years and am very happy with it. It provides moderate privacy, lets light and air pass through, and is resistant to wind damage. I usually must replace every two to three years as the wire deteriorates. It has survived Santa Ana winds and dust storms, but care must be taken to install it effectively for durability. It is especially nice to let mottled light pass through for my patio application. As a screen on my cinder block wall it works well to bock the traffic views.

They look and work great. I use them for partition walls in the office. I also made some free standing weighted poles to support the corners and ends out of rebar and concrete.

I wanted to create some privacy and hide my air conditioner unit- this did the trick! It also blocked the afternoon sun. The fencing is 16ft long- so i folded in half and created more privacy.Love it! Pretty resonable for the price.

I really like the look of this reed fencing. It will not block view unless you have at least 2 layers. I use two layers then use some burlap, like curtains, to hang on it where I need more privacy. We use it around our pool. It will eventually darken and if it has been secured well from the wind, will last as long as you want to keep it up. I like the darker color it gets with age and usually in the past have thrown it away and bought more each year because it's so inexpensive. We spread it along metal fence posts every 5 feet or so and secure with 16g steel gal wire. It's nice that it's so long and just tall enough. This year I left most of it that didnt get damaged in place, and added to it. The Home Depot price is comparable and better than most. The photo's depict two layers and you can see that in one photo, what one would see from the road and it isn't much. I also add small solar spot lights from the street view side to shine on the fence and that also helps with privacy at night.

The product is nice but to expand its length of 15 ft. I wouldn't call it privacy material but it dresses up the back yard nicely. I am using it in conjunction with a wire fence temporarily untill I am able to put up a wood fence after the winter winds blew the old fence down. The reeds help with the barrier between our properties to keep our dogs apart.

Used this fencing to block the view of our patio from the street. It is see thru, so I will buy the better grade when it needs to be replaced. I'm still happy with it tho. It's a very economical way to add a fence and I didn't need a pick up to get it home!

This fencing was perfect just what we needed to make our backyard more tropical. It also creates privacy as well. Buying the 4 pack was the best way to go as far as money. We installed it with galvanized staples using a staple gun. Easy for 2 people but could be done by one. I would recommend this highly.

The fence is light weight yet durable. Looks great.

I purchased four of these and need to get probably six more in order to get the entire area. Let me start out by saying we simply needed to heighten our fence to keep the dog from jumping it. Period. Fences are EXPENSIVE. I kept trying to figure out a way to achieve the end goal without going into debt. We tried adding critter wire, etc... Nothing really was working to keep the dog from figuring a way around or through it. Finally I stumble upon this reed stuff after several google idea sessions. For the price, I was willing to take the risk and try it out. I was able to install this by myself, though having a second person makes it go a little faster. You unpack the roll from the plastic, then sit it up against the fence. I secured the start with 3 cable ties to the top, middle and close to the ground as I could get, attaching to the fence. I made sure that each tie was going through at least 2 sections of "wire" on the fence (i have chain link--and I mean that I would have the cable tie go into a hole, loop over the part that meets another loop together in the fence, then come back through the reed fence), and about 4 reeds when coming back through. I secured each tie as tight as possible without breaking anything. You want to make sure there's not a whole lot of room for the reed fence to shift around, mainly because it's not really built for a lot of pressure. I also made sure that the bottom of the reed fence was flush against the ground at each point. I recommend securing one side, then unrolling the entire roll against the fence and securing the other side with just ONE TIE on the top (in case you need to make adjustments after getting the rest done). This will keep it from falling over while you work. I put two ties every two feet, one on the top, one close to the bottom. This part is the only part you'll want a second person for, because weaving the tie back toward you is a little tricky without someone to direct and feed it back. I did two of these myself and kept having to shove my fingers through the reeds to grab the tie and pull it back through-- annoyance level probably equal to tying water balloons; it's fine until you're about ten in. haha. Anyway, so you wanna make sure that as you go, you're checking to see that the reed in that section is flush with the ground. The reeds will shift up and down pretty easily, so if you've secured it already and the tie isn't right on the wires that hold the reeds together, you can adjust them with some hand tapping. Having the fence flush to the ground assists it from tipping or shifting much. Also it'll help it to be flush against the fence, so it's a win-win. You pull it taught each time you go to adjust before tying-- it's sturdy--you can pull on it pretty well without hurting it. Pull it tight enough that it's sitting flush and not wavy (if you want it to look nice, that is). If your reeds are leaning to the direction you're pulling, you need to pick it up off of the ground and pull from the bottom wired section until it's straight, and tie it there first once it's on the ground again. I do recommend pulling via the wired areas and not just the reeds themselves. I only ever did it that way just out of common sense and caution. Once you get to the end, you'll know if you'll need to adjust at all. If so, cut your one tie and pull the reed fencing to where you want it and re-secure. I did a couple of sections at a time and it didn't take more than maybe 45 minutes. Less once I had the hang of it and it probably took 10 minutes with a helping hand for the weaving. I've had these four up for at least a month now (I have no concept of time lately). They're holding up to the weather. We've had severe winds, severe thunderstorms and flooding, etc. Granted the flooding isn't happening in my yard or anything, but the amount of rain is the point. I don't see any sign of rotting or molding from the temperature or humidity. I have chickens, ducks, cats and dogs, and they all scratch and peck, etc, at the fence at times. There is no structural damage I can see. It's still standing as strong as day one. An aggressive or determined dog would probably figure out how to chew his way through this fence but still have no luck escaping since there is chain link behind it... But my dog was simply jumping the 4ft fence I had. This added the height that stopped her. My cucumbers have decided to take over one section of this reed-- they absolutely adore it. They look really nice on it, actually. So even if you just need something around your garden area, this is a great deal and a nice look. The slight separation in the reeds allows the wind to get through instead of pushing the fence over--so it makes up for its lack of thick, sturdy material in that aspect. The PRIVACY level is that of a shower curtain. You can still see movement, silhouettes on the other side. This wasn't my reason for getting the fence though, but I know there were some people who had concerns about it not really "hiding" them. Unless you plan on some skinny dipping or topless tanning in your yard, I really would consider this to be adequate for simply separating your daily activities from the outside world's un-obscured view. I honestly don't care who sees what I do outside. Nothing to hide, but also not very interesting, so they'd have to be pretty darn bored to want to watch me-tv haha. All in all, I highly recommend this fencing, even if you're really not on a budget and just need a little something to complete the feel of your fenced in areas. If you can afford a bit more, I recommend getting enough to do both sides of the fence. Why? Well because you can still see the chain link fence on the OTHER side, and though it's not totally horribly unsightly, if you're a at all OCD (and I am extremely) the fact that it doesn't match might drive you nuts eventually. ALSO it would more than likely add to the overall strength of the reed fencing itself, and therefore the lifetime of it. This photo is through my bedroom window at the garden area. You can see my ducks in the corner! lol. The area itself is a work in progress (which is why it looks a mess), but as you can see, the fencing looks really nice. I still have to purchase more of this to complete the area you see there without it. Which reminds me, when you're going over an entrance gate, you do the same as you did with everything else, except when you're done, you'll want to make certain to secure the reed to the posts on either side of the swinging gate, secure the reeds to the part of the gate that will be opening, then cut the wire holding the reeds together from bottom to top in a straight line-- it'll be between your post securing and the securing on the swinging gate piece-- and you'll be cutting in between just two reeds all the way up. Once you have completed that, you'll see that the door will swing open just fine, and not bunch up since you secured it in the right areas. Note: when placing the reed fencing over your opening gate area, be sure NOT to put the reed flush against the ground. If you do, either tap the reeds upward, or cut the reeds about an inch off the bottom. This will allow for your gate to open and close without resistance and without damaging the fence over time.

The fencing was a little thinner than I thought it would be but well worth the money. Easy to work with and looks good.

I bought this as a cheap alternative to putting up walls in my enclosed back porch. I rolled out the reed fencing right onto the studs, staple gunned it, and I think it looks great. It was fairly easy to cut around the windows with scissors and it's going to make my tiki room look fantastic!

I was looking for an inexpensive fix for my chain link fence and the view of my neighbors yard. I read the reviews on a lot of items and this one seemed to receive great raves. I purchased it online and it was delivered to my house in less than a week. A friend recommended that I use T-posts for added height and support, since my chain link fence was 4ft. I found them at my local farm supply store. If you do this, I suggest you buy a T-post pounder, it makes the job a lot easier. I used zip ties to attach the fencing to the posts and chain link fence. I did the entire project on my own in a couple hours. It is a lot more sturdy than I thought it would be. If you want added privacy I would double up the fence, which I did in certain areas that were eye sores. It has stormed several times, including hail, and it has no damage at all. I am very pleased with the outcome. I will probably take it down in the winter and put it back up in the spring. May get a longer use out of it that way.

I made a gazebo with a sattilite dish years ago. I covered it with a palm frond umbrella cover to make a palapa, but needed something to finish the lower part. I cut this product in half lengthwise and stapled it up. Work perfectly.

Our lot has five sides to it, with the ability to see into 8 yards. We live in the desert so planting really isn't an option because of water use. So we ordered the 4 pack of reed fencing (twice) to get some privacy from looking through chainlink fences. The first 4pack we ordered has been up for a year and is holding up even with 50 mph winds (when it's well attached to the chainlink). Easy to attach to the chainlink fencing. We got a roll of wiring, cut the wire and attached it to the chainlink. I would suggest 2 people to put it up just because it can be awkward to handle alone. The reed fencing does not give 100% privacy (and we knew that when we ordered it), but it certainly does not give a clear view into other yards and gives the allusion of privacy. And it looks nice! We are happy with it.

After reading the many mixed reviews I decided to go for it. I have 200 feet of fence line to cover to create privacy. I layed this over Green Fence Screen Privacy Screen material to increase the privacy. Next grabbed a few cans of polyurethane and sprayed the reed, hopefully this will give it more life before it turns grey. All in all happy for the price in comparison, feels sturdier attached to green screen on top of chain link. Ended up costing $2.90 a foot alltogether. Will do more and finiish it off

Had to cover up an almost-non-existent old fence that was falling apart until a new one could be installed. Not a terribly easy job for this single female home owner, (in 85-degree weather), but it works. It was definitely the length advertised—for a 60-foot fence, I had about 4 feet left over.

I have made three orders for this reed fencing over the last several weeks. The first was acceptable considering the price and the fact that it inherently will not stand close inspection. The second had more staining along the edges and more crushed or missing reeds. The third had even more of the same problems and had an additional problem with the wire binding. There were a half-dozen places where the weaving machine had lost tension on the wire resulting in loops of wire and reeds not being properly held in place. One spot in the center of the roll featured a 10" long tail of loose wire with the matching wire missing. Re-weaving this made for a very difficult repair. I also had to repair several places on all three units that had reeds that tapered to zero before reaching the edges of the panel.

Got this for my daughters yard in Florida. Was easy to put up, they didn't have any a chain link fence to put it on so they used pressure treated 2x2's & lock tite ties. To be a little more non see thru, they had to double layer the fencing. Although one roll was breaking off when received, they are happy with it. First photo is single & 2nd is doubled.

Instead of using an expensive shade fabric on top of our patio lattice we installed 4 rolls of reed fencing at less than 10% of the cost of the pricey fabric. It was simply to install-- just roll out the fencing on top of the lattice and set a few spare pieces of redwood lumber on the edges to hold it down. The reed fencing looks great.

I wanted some privacy and these worked great for the price.

My stupid neighbors clear-cut their property and came over 8 feet onto my property leaving NO privacy what-so-ever between our homes. This reed fencing was the least expensive fix I could find. I actually ended up using it on the other side of my yard even though privacy wasn't such an issue on that side. I just like the clean lines look of it. It's super easy to put up. I just used light wires to tie it onto the existing wire fence that I already have up to keep my dogs inside my back yard. I am planning on putting a bill together to give to my stupid neighbors though, they should have to pay at least 1/2!

Not bad. I used it for an ally way on the side of my house to neaten things up & hide the neighbors weeds. Definitely did that. Doesn't get any easier to install too. I attached it to a very old metal fence. Nice change of scenery. Hopefully it holds up for awhile. May add a second layer later on. Less see through than I thought it would be, which was good.
