Bought this didn’t work well. Limited to square or straight lines problem with curves. Depth is wrong doesn’t go to setting. Can only cut one way. Handle doesn’t stay have to keep adjusting. Not a clean cut. Hard to line to start

For years I have struggled with an edging attachment for my weed eater. I worked, but was difficult to use, got bogged down, and resulted in less and less edge trimming. For the last two years I neglected this task and the lawn over grew its edges by about 3". I was determined to get back to edging regularly as I really like the way it make the lawn look. I picked this up yesterday and was amazed at how easy it was to use. I literally did the entire edge (3 sides of a large front lawn) is about 5 minutes. That would have taken 30+ minutes with the old edger! It cut through the over growth easily and never bogged down. It is a simple design, for basically one purpose, and does it very well.

Lasts forever! This is the only place I can write about my edger — a U-278 - (sounds like a German U. Oat ;)] that has to be at least 40 years old. Still going strong. Edges my driveway, trims sling paver walls, and never slows down. If it goes before I do, I will definitely get another B & D edger!!

I purchased one of these a few months ago and have used it a total of 3 times. The 3rd time I used it it stopped working. The motor spins but the blade does not. This is the second time this model has done the same thing to me. The first time the edger lasted through about a dozen uses in a little over a year. You can see from the 2 photos below I do not have a lot of edging to do, so it's not like I'm using the machine on a really large project. This is absolutely ridiculous. I will not be purchasing another one as it is obvious this brand no longer makes quality products!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upon receiving this item and unboxing it i was pleased. It looked like a great kit to have! I immediately removed all of the tools and put the battery on the charger. My first job was to put a table together. This drill worked perfectly with just enough speed and durability to get the job done. The remainder of the tools came in handy as well to help me in putting the new table together accurately and with ease. My favorite part of this kit was the drill. The least favorite part had to be the case itself. The case was nice but a hardback one would be more helpful. I didn’t like the idea of having to fumble around in a bag to find the tool I was needing. This is why I gave it four stars! All in all it is a nice kit and would make a perfect starter kit for a newly married couple and/or new homeowner.

This drill is lightweight and the charge lasts a long time. The kit comes with a handy bag and everything I need for doing little do it yourself jobs around the house. The tools are good quality and I’m loving the fact that my tools all match. I no longer have three different brands of mismatched screwdrivers. There is even a little circular saw set included.

We bought our house late last year, and the landscaping has been neglected for many years. The grass at the sidewalk and driveway was overgrown by 3 - 6 inches in places. Usually we choose to buy gas powered tools, but we didn't want to spend $200+ for an edger. After watching some online video reviews of the Black & Decker Corded Edger, we decided to purchase this one. We have been very pleased with the quality of the job that was accomplished using it! I have uploaded a couple of pictures of the job done at the sidewalk. We purchased the edger online and it arrived on a Saturday. It was put together, fired up and in use immediately! Who would have thought that we would have liked an electric edger, not us, but we do! :)

The 20v lithium drill is my favorite, is very powerful and the battery long last, is not too big and is very lightweight ideal for any project. It also comes with hole saws , those I mainly use them for doors knows and the space bits are also very essential , those make small holes mainly for light or cable wire. This package also have screwdrivers,knife,plyers,tape measure hammer and everything is well made and very durable material. I personally recommended and think every family should have one , because saves time and money in all home do it yourself remodeling. The best thing about this product are the results, my home looks more beautiful with the help of this efficient tools.

The kit comes everything you need to do work around the house . The handle is very balanced and easy to hold . I was able to use the drill for hours without staining my arm or getting tired . My hubby has tools, plenty of tools, but this kit is MINE!!! It comes in a nice box with each piece neatly packaged so you can see what you are getting. Also included is a nice tool bag to keep everything in neatly. The drill is not heavy at all and easy to handle. It fits perfectly in my hand. It has a light to make seeing what you are doing easier. Attachments are easy to put in and take out. It has a charger and is easy to charge. I have used the drill to replace the belt on my vacuum, replace the faucet in my bathtub, and install a window air conditioner. These Black and Decker tools make my life easy because they are all easy to use. I keep all these tools in the tool bag that came with the kit. It holds them all easily. It has a zipper to close it and two handles for easy carrying. Everything that comes with the kit fits perfectly in the bag. This bag stay in my house for all those inside jobs.I absolutely love this kit.

I have been a loyal Black n Decker customer for many years. I have always preferred them because of their quality and reasonable pricing. I no longer fell this way. I have currently 2 of these of which I have acquired in 2 years time, the first one motor died, the new one the blades are totally lose and do not rotate. Will not recommend this product !!!

Not really impressed with this product. It does an okay job but I was expecting better.

BUYER BEWARE! The parts list posted on the Home Depot website, the B&D website, and any other website isn't going to do jack for you once you strip that gear in this unit. The replacement gear/spindle listed is too thicc for the gearcase cover bearing, and too thin for the bushing in the gearcase inside your unit. In order to install the spindle listed in the official parts list, you'll have to retrofit with metal gearcase and metal gear case cover. Adding more to the stupidity, the parts mentioned in the official parts list are made of metal, not plastic like the ones that came with the product. If you're getting the crazy idea that you should retrofit with metal parts anyway, think again! They have discontinued the metal gearcase anyway, which renders this entire unit useless once you strip a single $9 gear! Good luck with the retrofit without the gearcase...

I was a little skeptical given the price but was pleasantly surprised. Worked perfectly.

After 11 years of what I'd call ordinary use, my motor finally started wearing out and quit, blade started wobbling. I use it probably 10x per season on mostly the edge of my driveway (approx. 600 ft of centipede beside concrete driveway) with a few times aroud plant beds. I am looking at my original receipt from Lowes, my fist was purchased there on 6/29/04 for $89.00, here it is 7/2/15 and the price is still the same! Can't beat that! Repeat customer here!

I'm NOT paid to write this.. IT ROCKS! It's awesome! I've only used it one time, and had to rave about it. It's easy to use and works like a champ. If your looking for an electric edger, THIS IS IT! I had read a lot of the reviews before my purchase, and I must say.... "They are correct, IT's KILLER!" Enjoy!

This really affordable tool is great for edging even in the hardest areas. I also used it to create the edge between my grass and my garden and worked great as well since it has 2 settings to do both. Some people use their trimmers to edge but this edging tool gives you a nice & clean cavity between the sidewalk and the grass. I really recommended for a more detailed finish!

Makes edging so easy. Has good power and blade strength. Cord a bit too long requiring bending during assembly. Aside from this a great tool for a good price

Already made use of my edger in my front garden. It is exactly what I was looking for. I’ve already have gotten many compliments as to how my front garden looks. It sure made my job a lot easier.

Works good, the handle is a bit loose but overall seems like a good edge. Only used it twice so I will see how it holds up.
