This stain is one of the best to use on wood fences or gates. Touch up is very easy after being on the wood for several years.

Love this. Makes the wood look like new. Used this on my barn, wooden planters, outdoor tables, and wishing wells.

This stain works really well on my older deck. I did two coats which turned out quite beautifully. The coverage is perfect and the durability seems good. It dries quickly, in about an hour, and seems fully cured for use after a day. I used 2 gallons to cover a large deck, about 300-500 sq ft. I'd say it's more like a thinner paint, and the finish appears to be solid, like a paint, as opposed to transparent like a stain. This is perfect for reapplying over existing finishes, since it covers the old stuff. Water cleanup makes this very easy to work with, and mistakes/drips are easy to fix. Overall, given the price, this is the best value product.

Good product but needs three coatings.

For the price this product is great. I have used it on patios and planters. It is more lasting on vertical surfaces than on floors. Easy clean up, easy to apply. I would love if it was just a little more thicker. That's the reason for the 4 stars.

I've been using this product for many years. It works very well for my purposes.

This stain is cheaper than others: that's why we first bought it. Since then we've gone through many gallons on two decks & railings, a couple of fences and gates, and a chicken coop. Goes on easy and cleans up well. I think the first gallon I bought was 3 years ago and it's aging well. When it has been sitting it needs 5 minutes or so of stirring, but it's worth the hassle. Overall this is a great product for the price (if you like the color).

The price was great less than $10 a gallon. Used this on my ten year old pergola that was looking pretty rough. Application was very easy .It goes on like paint but dries like stain. No brush marks. One coat was enough but I did do two on the outside post and trim that receive all the weather.

Spreads well and dries quickly. Coverage could be better, but two coats does the job and it looks great

Red barn. Red Stain. No Primer required. 2 Coats with a 4 inch bruch after scrapping, pressure cleaning , and rough sanding.

NOT a big Behr fan, but the promise and colour convinced me to try Behr again. Went on very thin, like a stain, but as far as I can tell there was no soaking in, even on raw wood. There are no instructions to prime, so I treated it like a stain. After two uneven coats, and 3 days drying time, little bumps seemed to act like chips. I hung the lumber to coat all sides at the same time to prevent drips. Lovely colour, but I am VERY concerned about longevity. Was used on replacement pine for a barbecue grill, so the only wear will be sun, weather and the occasional tong or plate. Will be watching it carefully. Will only recommend at this time for colour.

I have an old stockade fence that sorely needed a coat of paint. I didn't have a lot of money in my budget and found this stain to work best for my needs. It's really thin and you need to make sure you stir it well. Better yet have the store throw it in their mixer before bringing it home. I used a brush to apply it but can see where it would work well with a sprayer as It goes on very easy. It is a barn red color as you can see from my before and after pictures. I highly recommend this product

I had to cover a weathered shed that had a previous stain coating. As I looked at the reviews on this, I decided to give it a try. When you open the container, the stain looks decided redder than a redwood would be, and it is red when applied, but it dries to nice brownish red redwood tint. See my enclosed photo where the wood on the left is dried finish, the wood in the middle is as applied, and the unstained wood is on the right. Coverage was as I expected. My wood soaked in the stain, and some extra coats were needed. It applies like oil, but cleared up the brushes like latex. Good stuff.

This is the best stain I have ever used! Covers great and the price is unbeatable! I have a Chinese style garden with a tremendous amount of decking, the pressure treated lumber was showing it's age and this stain a very solid color red that compliments my garden perfectly has made the wood look new. Easy to apply,the best way is by brush to fill all nooks and crannies. Even if it only holds up for a couple of years at this price I do not mind redoing it.

Affordable and coverage was excellent.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would like a bit more of a reddish-brown color and would like to know if I could mix some brown latex stain with the Behr Oil-Latex stain or possibly mix in some brown oil stain which I have some leftover. Behr seems to be the only company making the Oil-Latex stain so I cannot find this question answered anywhere.

Not impressed at all. Was hoping I was getting a true stain instead of a latex paint as one of the suggestions. I am staining a true redwood fence and wanted a deep red stain true to the original redwood hew. I returned the product after a couple strokes on a test piece to see how it looked. I went back to the store and did my investigation of the different Behr stains available and with the help of a different employee I found the stain I had wanted originally.

Paint is to watered down, won't cover.

I ordered 2 cans of the stain online. Home Depot only delivered one can. Called and texted customer service many times and it is extremely difficult to get a real person to solve the problem.
