A lot of stealth for a garden spade. I liked the foot cleats on top of the spade. Enough room and sturdy enough so you can stomp on the spade.

Great product for digging holes to plant my fruit trees. Very sturdy, and strong.

This spade was easy to use and requires little effort to cut through tough grass.

Love this new shovel. Well worth the money!

Before I bought this I used a regular shovel to dig up grass sod around a new landscape I was working on, which is about 50' long. It got to be too hard to do with the shovel, so I bought this one. The job was much easier to do, and it works great! because of the shape of this.

Works great for defining a flower bed from lawn area.

No price on rack when purchased and felt rather expensive when out check out still purchased then returned.Thought bad enough can never get help in stores but at least thy could have price of item posted

Excellent blade made for easy edging of our existing mulch beds. The spade feels sturdy and I’ve had no problems.

Rugged design and construction. Used for digging trenches, easily handled tough clay and rocky soils without twisting. Has wide enough shovel surface area so you get a solid, no-slip downward thrust, ought to be great for edging beds, digging sod. More versatile than a trenching shovel.

This is quite possibly the biggest piece of junk I have ever bought. I bought this shovel last fall to do some edging and went I went to use it in the spring it was so dull that I couldn't cut through grass or hard soil. My 20 year old standard blade shovel from Sears still works just fine. However, I wanted a straight edge, so I borrowed my neighbors straight edge shovel. Their shovel worked just fine as well So, I concluded that I do in fact know how to use a shovel and that this Ames shovel is a piece of junk. So, unless you are looking for a rusty dull shovel, purchasing this shovel would be a waste of your $. Also, I tried to return this piece of junk to Home Depot and they said that since it was past 90 days I couldn't return to the store and would have to contact Ames customer service. Well, I called during their normal hours and after several phone prompts got to customer service only to have to leave a message. I do not really expect a call back since their shovel and their phone system are both piece of junk. Although not being able to speak with someone in the customer service has given me enough free time to warn all of you to..DO NOT BUY THIS SHOVEL!!!

It broke the very same day I bought it. I had a put screws in it to keep the handle and the head on the shaft.

Worked well for my need of a short handle.

We have used to plant fruit and pecan trees this spring and it has met every expectation. It penetrates the hard and rocky soils as easily as it does the perfect soil.

Perfect for me! Easy to handle, much more precise digging and transplanting than my old big shovel! Comfortable handle , and because it's green, maybe my landscaping crews won't take it accidentally again! Female, 5'5" tall

This shovel was perfect size and weight. Don't have to lug those heavy shovels around
