We went to Home Depot, expecting to buy a Fiskars...
We went to Home Depot, expecting to buy a Fiskars metal handle spade that had been listed as in stock. Needed the spade the next morning, but Fiskars was NOT in stock and Ames were along with 3 other brands. The Ames appeared to be the best choice of the 3--sharper blade, longer and wider blade, a warranty for 15 years, step edge for more pressure going through hard ground, AND a price at half the Fiskars price!

I would give it a 5 star rating for sturdiness....
I would give it a 5 star rating for sturdiness. I gave it a 4 because the handle is turned slightly to the left which is great for a right handed person but not a lefty like me. Not sure it it is by design or not.
