Excellent toilet but needs more water for flush
Bought this last year and it is an excellent toilet but in my opinion, no toilet should have less than 1.60 gpf as this one barely seems to take all waste away. I find myself holding down the handle to try and let more water from the tank. Water level is already at the top of the flush valve.

After a count of 10 different toilets installed, non-working ones...
After a count of 10 different toilets installed, non-working ones tossed, in two homes over 25 years, The Champion by American Standard is one of the best. I still had to drag plunger out once in it’s first month. Slight disappointment in that. How I’d love to never use one of those again.

The Best!
I won't have any other toilet in my house. I immediately replace the 2 existing builder grade toilets when I moved into my new house. What a difference. Added another bathroom to the house and purchased my 3rd American Standard Champion to install. They don't clog up, use very little water. Well worth the price.

Manufacturing Defects
I bought this toilet a week ago and the seal between the tank and the seat is faulty and I have to warranty the bloody thing to get a new toilet which is very inconvenient. I still think over all American Standard is a reliable product but this specific purchase was not a good one.

Easy installation and flushes very well.
Replaced some old, inefficient, toilets in our home. Did the work myself with no special tools. I’m handy, but not a plumber. Highly recommended.

Great Toilet, Terrible Seat
We replaced all four toilets in our house at once with this model. The toilet is great and the flush is strong. The seat that comes with it, however, is my only complaint. It’s cheap plastic and became loose within days on the two most frequently used toilets. (Plumber installed, so not done incorrectly. Just low quality.)

Fills Quietly
We purchased 2 toilets about a month ago... They fill quickly and quietly. I would give them 5 stars but 1 is not working properly.... In fairness I have not attempted to reach out to American Standard yet.... I was about to when I saw the request for a review.

Not sure why the flush valve must be held down...
Not sure why the flush valve must be held down for 3 to 4 seconds in order to get a good flush even after adjusting water level to 1/4” from top of overflow tube.

Ghost Flushing

I Plugged it with my first dump
I Plugged it with my first dump and found the 1.6 gal flush version has a different flush valve, so why not sell it with the same and give you the adjustment option. Still disappointing in the plugging it first attempt after seeing the ping pong ball test!!

Water Level in Bowl
This toilet is supposed to be water efficient , it does not fill the bowl up with enough water to flush the waste out , I have to clean it with a brush !

Bad
I purchased two of these. One works perfectly, the other doesn't. I contacted AS about this and was told to adjust the pull chain on the flapper. Did that. No results. Still a "phantom flush". If the tank top to the unit is removed the arm for the flush lever goes much higher than the lid so I am suspecting the arm hits the bottom of the closed lid, causing it to not working properly. It's lousy to have to hold down the arm in order to flush the toilet. Not what I paid for.
