Fill connection to close to the bowl
10” rough in version. Unable to use any type of flex hoses as they all have oversized fittings to allow for easy grip. This toilet is designed for a rigid only fitting as the fill valve is too close. Had I known this I would have went with a different mfg. now I will have to higher a plumber to cut and mount a rigid supply line.

After one month of use, this toilet has operated trouble free.. Everything flushes easily with the design and 1.6 gallons. The height is about an inch or so higher than a standard height which makes it easier to get up off of if you have problems with your knees, It installed easily in about 30-45 minutes. It looks great and stays cleaner in the bowl than my previous toilet. The kit comes with everything needed to install except the seat and the water supply tube , which if you are replacing an existing one your old supply tube should work. I recommend you get the recommended slow close seat and also recommend this toilet It was not in stock so I had a two week wait so for some this may be an issue. Before removing your old one check if it is on hand. I do recommend this toilet if you are in need or want one with the features it has, Also American Standard products have been around for a long time.

Good powerful flush. One flush and everything is gone. Tank refill is quiet. However, the glazing around the underside of the rim is uneven, incomplete. But, it does not cause any problem, It is a sore eye if you look under the rim.

I installed this 1/20/18 and I must say it flushes with authority! Would give 5 stars if it wasn't for the flapper. It works fine but it's adjustable to set the duration of the flush. It's a Fluidmaster Model 540 and comes present at 1 but really should be at 10. To change it the white bulb has to be removed and repositioned. To do that the flapper has to be removed, then squeeze and pull the bulb by the two catch tabs. Better to do one at a time - squeeze too hard and it cracks. There's video on YouTube that covers it...

This toilet both functions well (good flush) and looks very nice. We also like the tall height of the toilet. We have one that is the lower height and after you get used to the tall one the low one is uncomfortable. There was a manufacturer defect where there was a small crack in in the porcelain tank that leaked, but home depot was good with getting that replaced with a new one.

      Quick FLUSH! Great height!!
I installed this toilet for my parents who are both in their 70s. When, it arrived, it was packed very well and everything was in good working order. The tank and the base arrived in one box. The installation was simple and the instructions were good. This toilet is listed as "right" height. I assumed it would be significantly taller, but it was less than 2" taller than the old one. Turns out, it is the PERFECT height! I was really surprised how much difference it made. My mom and dad said it is soooo much easier to stand from this height. Additionally, It flushes quickly and powerfully. The kit included a wax ring and the toilet seat.

      The Cleaner toilet
Cadet 3 Powerwash Toiletg is a quality oblong toilet bowl that I really like and recommend. Please note that the toilet seat shown in the pictures does not come with the toilet. Normally, it’s difficult to write something exciting about a toilet, but there are a number of items in this toilet design that impressed me. The toilet arrived in two boxes (tank and bowl as shown in pictures) the boxes were well constructed with handles making it easy to carry the toilet to the location of installation. Due to the packaging I would assume damage in shipping is rare. When I installed the tank, the nuts that hold the tank on come with handles as shown in the pictures. I was able to attach the tank without the use of any tools. Also the tank bolts have a large rubber isolation mounts under them which would prevent cracking the tank during installation. (good design) The main mount screws were also designed such that a person could tighten them down without the use of a tool. (also a nice feature). I like the narrower and sleeker profile of the tank as shown in the pictures. It’s more attractive and gives more room around the toilet if you have a tight bathroom. It really does eliminate the old boxy looking styles. There weren’t any flaws in the toilet. The surface is smooth and the white color is uniform and attractive. The toilet flushes well and as shown in the picture uses a standard flap flush control unit which comes with the toilet. I prefer this since repair is easier if necessary. Overall installation time was maybe thirty minutes provided you have the water line ready to hook up and your toilet flange is ready. This toiled comes with the wax seal (convenient). The toilet flushes well and has been easy to clean. The sleeker tank design does make the cleaning easier. Overall a quality attractive product and good design that I recommend.

A toilet that actually flushes like it's supposed to!
Nothing could be more frustrating than picking out a brand new toilet, go through all the work installing it, just to find out it does a mediocre job of flushing. We hit the nail right on the head with this toilet, it actually flushes like it's supposed to! Look at the picture I attached to the review, and just look at the extra large SIZE of that flapper valve! If you have seen the inside of several toilet tanks, you will instantly notice this flapper is HUGE. What you get, is a larger quantity of water rushing down into the bowl, and a blast of water opposite of the direction of the trap, and everything in the toilet makes it down into the sewer where it belongs. I have never had to flush more than once, and have never had to plunge it. That is a big statement to make considering even though some of the newer toilets CLAIM they flush well, they really don't. Makes it hard to believe the claims made on product packages anymore. American Standard got this one right, and the toilet truly performs how it was meant to perform. One very minor negative which does not affect the performance at all, is the lid to the tank was scuffed up during shipping. I think it should have been packed a little better, but it's not so bad that I want to even consider returning the toilet. I wouldn't hesitate to install one of these toilets in our other bathroom.

      Comfortable and Good Looking
I really like this toilet. It looks fantastic in our bathroom and was a real cinch to install. It only took about an hour to put in and came with everything I needed for the job with the exception of the seat itself and a few hand tools. The toilet is very comfortable as well. It sits up taller than most toilets and has a very natural seating position. The flush mechanism is good and strong as well. Much better than most 1.3 gallon units out there. I also like that it's environmentally friendly. We are in a drought here in Texas and water conservation is very important to us. This toilet really meets all of my needs.

Great toilet, especially for ADA needs
This was the first toilet I ever installed and it was easier than I expected. It took as long to remove the old toilet and clean the surrounding area as it did to install the new toilet. About one hour to remove and one to install. The trickiest part is setting the new toilet straight down onto the hole without damaging the wax ring. I got this before I realized it was a 10" rough in. Our existing is a 14". Everything matched up and the front of the bowl is the same distance from the wall as our old toilet. The difference is there is now a 3.5 inch gap between the wall and tank instead of 1.5 inches. The new tank is so much smaller it doesn't look bad. Plus as you can see from the picture we have a shelf above so barely noticeable. The extra two inches or so in seat height should be helpful for anyone looking to get an ADA compliant toilet. The rest of our bath was already ADA compliant because of my wifes father living with us so we got this toilet to go 100% compliant. We plan to stay in the house a long time. If you don't need an ADA toilet save the money and buy the regular Cadet 3. We have another Cadet 3 upstairs and really like it. I only gave it 4 stars in the quality because they did not glaze the toilet in the back of the tank and a couple of spots along the bottom have thin glazing. Purely cosmetic but makes you think they cut as many corners as possible to keep the price down. Also the float and flapper are in tight because the tank is so small. When the water fills the float on mine rubs along the tank wall and gets stuck a couple of times as it fills. It recovers before the water gets to the fill line. It is super quiet when filling. I had to really listen to hear it with the tank lid on. Since it doesn't come with a seat I bought the Bemis Just Lift with soft close. Once you go slow close you won't go back. The Just lift really does work. Anyone looking for an ADA complaint toilet should feel confident in this model.

Love the height but seems pricey for a quasi-basic toilet
The Cadet 3 tank was shipped in a separate box from the Cadet 3 bowl which made a tremendous difference from another name-brand toilet whose tank was broken upon delivery to my house and is now creating a nightmare for me. Both of the Cadet 3 boxes were impeccable and packed inside with encased peanuts. So we started off on the right foot for this one. Althought not packed securely (=loose), all the parts and pieces were inside and we were ready to go. I already had my toilet seat (slow closing) so no issue there - just needed a water supply line. Took more time to remove the old toilet and clean up underneath it than install this new one. Everything attached like it should. The comfort height is perfect and I had missed it so much from my last house. This is THE best part of the toilet for these old and tired knees and back. I would have preferred the tank cover to be straight and not rounded in the front where the seat goes back but then again - not planning on making it a recliner. In that same thought process, at first I was a little concerned about the uncommon 10" rough-in from other reviews but after installing the toilet and replacing my etagere over it, it's not a concern anymore - probably more of an aesthetic issue with me than functional. I don't plan on sitting all the way back on the toilet or taking a nap on it so leaning on the tank shouldn't be a issue. The flush/force seems pretty strong and fast so the Powerwash feature is impressive. Will see how clean it stays with the EverClean feature even though, of course, I will still be cleaning but just knowing germs should be not having a field day in the meantime is comforting. What still has me perplexed, which is what others are saying, is why is there no toilet seat included? Granted - I had my own but still. I guess American Standard figures if you can afford this expensive little ditty, you can afford to buy a toilet seat?

Comfortable and comes with everything but a seat
This product has great flush performance. The flush valve drops a large volume of water quickly to force bowl contents quickly into the trap which helps prevent clogs. Water also flows around the rim to help keep the bowl clean. The porcelain has a special coating to help keep the bowl clean. The toilet comes with flange bolts (although they were missing from my box), plastic nuts to secure toilet to flange, decorative caps and a thick wax ring. Instructions indicate to only hand tighten the plastic nuts but I had trouble leveling the toilet and had to use shims on one side and wrench tighten the nuts to keep the toilet from rocking. The original toilet was not using shims so I suspect the bottom of the toilet had an imperfection causing it to not sit level. The tank to bowl bolts are pre attached and have grommets to keep them from coming loose as you attach the tank. The toilet fills quietly and looks great. The bowed front design of the tank causes my toilet seat to not want to stay up some times. The Right Height design makes sitting a more comfortable experience. Note: this is a 10 inch mount toilet. It can be installed in an area that is 12 inches from wall to flange bolts but it will leave a large gap behind the tank.

      Flushes very nicely
This elongated toilet is pretty good at flushing even at 1.6 gpf. The entire package contain the tank, bowl, screws and was. However, there was no toilet seat. The installation is similar to all other toilets out there. The elongated seat was nice to accommodate larger size adults. Overall, I would recommend this toilet but make sure you get a toilet seat otherwise you would have to run back to the store.

Powerful flush, easy installation, sleek look
First of all the toilet functions very well. It has a good force to the flush. The inner tank components are pre-installed and the flush valve has not allowed any water leakage into the bowl. Installation is a breeze (it takes longer to remove the old toilet and clean up). A wax ring is included with the kit; the instructions say to first seal the ring on the base of the toilet but you may want to actually center it in the drain/flange and then put the toilet on top for ease of alignment. One of the great characteristics will go unnoticed by others but the floor bolts do not need to be cut with a hack saw and instead are covered by taller caps which will save you a few minutes. The tank attaches to the base by two easy to tighten bolts that allow a good china-to-china seal. The entire toilet has a rough in of 10 inches (seems most common is 12"); so mine is a little away from the wall...it's not really noticeable to the user though (did find some previous wallpaper that wasn't removed from behind the old tank). BUYING NOTE: toilet seat and water supply line are NOT included so plan ahead. Due to the taller height of the bowl I needed a 12 inch supply line (the replaced toilet used an 8"). All in all, this was the easiest toilet I've installed, looks great, and functions very very well.

      Great Toilet Great Flush
The American Standard Cadet 3 toilet is a very straight forward toilet to install. The directions were very helpful, and the pictures were clear to understand. My first time installing a toilet and never seeing it done, the directions were a big help. The directions stated that the Wax Ring was sold separately but it was included. The toilet and tank were packed very well, and no parts were missing. After installation, there were no leaks or problems, and I'm very satisfied with the quality of materials. I was pleased with the water pressure when I flushed this toilet. I would recommend The American Standard Cadet 3 toilet.

Could not find a product with the unique combination of features in stock so I ordered this one from the warehouse. Product came ship-to-store in perfect condition and was just what I needed. Install was simple with the enclosed hardware but I did buy a better wax ring. The seat was not included but I knew that at time of order so I picked one up at HD when I bought the wax ring. I would recommend this product!

We have only been using this for a few days. It is the lowest flush toilet we have ever purchased but it seems to flush very well. You do need to hold the handle down for about a second before letting go when you flush, which takes getting used to.

Love this seat!! And my plumber ‘Jack’ thank for fixing this for us! However getting the toilet with the seat was unbelievable because the seat was in the store , they couldn’t put it with the toilet when it came in.. so they put it back on the shelf! Soo confusing! And then had to pay separately! I called multiple times but it didn’t really matter.. Bah.. way too computerized

Install was extremely easy and straight forward. I did not use the wax ring provided, partially because it was damaged and I like having a flange on the wax ring. My biggest complaint, one toilets mounting bolts measured 11” from the wall, so I used a 10” rough opening tank, there’s a solid 3” gap from the back of the tank to the wall, a 12” rough opening tank would have fit just fine and not left a large gap. I am happy with the flush performance. Four star is based on the fact that a 12” would’ve worked on an 11” rough opening, maybe that’s on me, I am not sure.
