While I appreciate the craftsmanship of the product I was surprised to find each shelf is mounted by sliding it over two screw heads in the wall at each end. My result is a flimsy fitting 60-inch shelf. This may be fine for smaller shelves but I'd appreciate something more substantial for larger shelves.

This is a great product. Be forewarned though that your measurements need to be exact when hanging. There is no room for error/adjustment in the hanging system. This is why I rated it 4 stars. Otherwise 5.

The shelves were not appropriate for my intended use, storing/displaying hard cover books. Not sturdy, I had placed a few books on two of the four shelves I purchased and the weight of the books pulled the shelves down from the wall, which had just been painted, leaving holes in the plaster. I like their clean lines, but the web site description should say for extremely light weight use only. A big waste of $$$ for me.

Ordered two shelves in chocolate. The shelves looked nice except they weren't the same color, one almost black, the other redish brown. Needless to say they will be returned.

I looked all over for light colored shelves and these fit the bill perfectly. The finish is smooth and the lip is great for keeping things on w/o slipping off. Just what I needed. And the fact that they come in varying sizes was also ideal. Would definitely recommend these.

Nice shelf, but clearly not a solid hardwood shelf. Needed a light sanding before painting, but looks very nice.

The shelves look very high end! Compared to other shelves I saw that were double or triple the price, these were the nicest! No real assembly required, so it was fairly easy! I recommend this product to anyone looking to add some nice, decorative shelving to a room without going overboard on price!

It will look great above the wicker and wood cabinet that I also bought from Home Decorators. I haven't hung it yet...Waiting for my husband. He normally uses his own hardware instead of hardware that comes with the product.

I was really looking forward to putting together my wall arrangement until I tried to hang these shelves. You get two three inch screws with each shelf unit one for each end. The spacing of the holes on the back of the shelf are spaced so that you can only hit one end on a wall stud. I tried using mollies to help secure the other end but still the shelf sagged. In order to get the self to stop the sagging I had to use an "L" bracket to keep it level. Which took away from the whole "floating shelf" idea

We had a "blah" fireplace - we put this shelf over it as a mantel and it now looks much better.

We were very disappointed with the quality of these shelves. We did return them and would not recommend them to anyone.

This shelf was meant to solve my design and spatial problems, however, I have 2 new problems: holes in my wall I now have to patch. The Shelf is hung by 2 keyholes.... which i guess you would expect, however I bought the 60 inch shelf... and yes, that whole 5 foot expanse was hung still by only 2 thin wooden keyhole slots. The first time I hung the shelf, the alignment went without a hitch, but I noticed the shelf would not stay perpendicular to the wall.... it sloped downwards such that things would slide to the edge and appear to be on the verge of sliding off if not for the lip. I tried tightening the screws and everything still the shelf looked "droopy". I tried shims as another reviewer mentioned, and that is when the keyhole cracked and my wall anchor loosened to the point where it no longer held the shelf safely, and now to hang the shelf I have to put 2 new holes in my wall. Not sure what to do now, except patch my holes.

Great everyday floating shelf for the price. Installation was easy. You will need to purchase wall anchors if not installing into a wall stud. Looks great hung up on the wall. We purchased both the 2' and 3' shelves and installed them on the same wall. The ledge insert is perfect for putting picture frames on the shelf.

We are not very skilled in hanging shelves, so we got a family member to help. But now that they are up, they look great! I'd buy them again.

Just what I was looking for. Putting it up was easy enough, but you have to get the measurements just right. It would have been better if they added a paper template that you just taped to the wall and you use a nail to mark the spots where you need to drill. That would make it perfect!

Several years ago I bought two of these shelves for displaying a set of pretty plates in my breakfast room. We sold that house when we retired and left the shelves. I had enjoyed them so much that I searched your site, found them again and bought 3 shelves for my new kitchen. They are the same great look and quality, but are they a bit shallower from front to back? My blue and white teapot won't sit on the new shelves, only the plates, but they look great.

I was looking forever for small floating shelves that were modern and not cheap looking, yet inexpensive. These are perfect. Just another time that Home Decorators has been a success. I love this site for inexpensive yet very trendy and hip furniture and accessories.

I bought this in white for use in my daughter's bathroom. It hangs up via slotted screw heads which means it won't support a lot of weight. The finish was white paint and it's a little rough feeling. The slot in the top of the shelf isn't nicely sanded either and I'm not really sure what it's for. Still, it looks OK and is a practical solution to her storage problems.

I have two main complaints. The first is so large, it may prevent me from actually using this shelf. The shelf has a groove cut across the top of it, which was not mentioned in the description. Now, looking closely at the pictures, I can see it's there, but I have to look for it. I wouldn't have bought the shelf if I had known this. Second, the hardware sent with the shelf is not very good, and it's a bit difficult to hang.

I was very pleased with the shelf, it was easy to install and looks great. I used it as an accent piece at the end of a hallway and it was just the finishing touch I needed!

While I feel the shelves were certainly overpriced, they were the exact sizes and style I was looking for, which is why I bought them. Also from past purchases, I know that Home Decorators is a good company to work with. I would possibly recommend HD to a friend, but would warn of prices. Thank you.

the shelf is stylish and is a great fit. we put it above our bed and set a photo on it, in lieu of a head board. the length is perfect over our king size bed. our only issue is that the mounting hardware was insufficient for our regular drywall. we had to buy more secure anchors. also, we needed to shim it because we found that the shelf sagged a little after it was wall mounted.

This shelf looks great. I was hesitant to buy it after reading a review that claimed it pitched forward. While I was installing it the same thing happened to me but I realized it wasn't installed properly. By adjusting the screws and making sure the shelf snapped into place it is now as sturdy as any bracketed shelf. Simple design and very attractive.

We bought three shelves to put above the desk to display all the family photos. It works great and holds lots of photos...I love it. Prevents me from having to have them in various locations throughout the house. It's great to look up from the computer and see all the photos neatly displayed. This is the best display arrangement for family photos I've ever had.

I purchased two shelves of this length and style in order to be able to put them side by side, due to space constraints with the other sizes. They fit adequately side by side, with just a tiny space between. (This might have been because of stud placement in the wall?) I had them placed up high because I wanted to display pictures above furniture on a 10' wall to fill in space. Had the placement been lower or just one shelf used, all ratings would have been excellent. Because of the height, you can see that the bottom molding under the shelf is not even where the two shelves meet. I am still very pleased with the product and the results.

This shelf does not sit level. It leans downward because the support that are attached to the wall that hold up the shelf are not long enough to make the shelf level so the front is too heavy and it leans.

Nice shelf with a great price. Gotta get some more!
