Pretty good value for the price. The finish on the edges was a little rough. However, it was easy to hang and looks great once up. It also was the right width and depth for the spot I wanted to hang it in. I would buy another one.

There is no template for mounting the shelf. It is wood; however the mounting system does not allow for the shelf to site truly level. I would look at a shelf with external mounting brackets.

do not waste your time or money this is a really cheap product, very very disappointing. wont mount to the wall properly, you must buy some more materials in order to make it somewhat ok looking(but defiantly not amazing)

I am extremely pleased with the way the shelves look. My son, who is very handy, had difficulty mounting them to the wall. You need to buy molly blots/anchors. The hardware that is included will not work. Also, only lightweight objects can be placed on the shelf. I have several picture frames.

This item is a great choice for wall displays. Goes up easy, is of high quality and easily mixed and matched with more than one shelf. The description should include the fact that there is also a plate groove should you wish to display that type of item. Also, do factor in the "ledge" portion if you need to have a very percise measure of the actual display portion of the shelf. It does take away approx. 1/"2 around the front and sides. That being said, the ledge portion keeps things in place and adds a nice finished look.

I couldn't put the shelf up because the studs behind the bathroom wall didn't match the location of the 2 screws. If they made the product installment capability more flexible, it would have a good value.

Love the shelf. It was easy to put up and it looks great! I probably would have preferred more color choices but like it nontheless.

The shelves were fine, however the mounting system was less than acceptable for my purposes. Mounting was with two key holes in each end and two screws. This does not provide enough support for the DVD's planned for the shelves. I ended up drilling 3 inch deep holes in the shelves and putting 5/16 inch lag screws with the heads cut off for mounting. This works well but for the price, I feel these shelves should have come with something better.

These shelves are very simple yet elegant for my dining room walls but hanging them proved interesting. The concept is simple but the fact that the lengths don't allow you to hit a stud on each end leaves you needing extra materials to ensure stability. Plan to allow time to tweak the screw depth too in an attempt to bring the shelf against the wall securely otherwise the shelf will slant down and hang away from the wall.

This is an attractive shelf. The product received looks like the one advertised. It is a sturdy shelf. But we could not get it to lie flush against the wall. always tips forward no matter how we adjust the screws. I suspect it has to do with the way the screw holes are drilled. They just don't permit a snug connection with the wall screws. Too bad. We did jimmy it with some shims - but not the product we were hoping for.

I loved the idea and look of this shelf. However, after trying to hang several times because it either would hang at an angle or pull the screws out of the wall because of weight. I had to return the item. The return process was very easy and the customer service staff was very accomodating. I will purchase items in the future.

This shelf has a beautiful ebony finish. The feature I like is the groove in the back so you can put plates on it. Very easy to install and the 5" depth is great because it doesn't stick out into the room too much.

Based on the price, I was hoping for a better quality product. I seriously contemplated returning them. I purchased the black shelves and the finish is so so. You hang the shelves by two screws. The holes in the back of the shelves for the screws are just drilled out holes and some are crooked. In order to get the shelves to hang tight against the wall and straight, you need to have the screws screwed all but 1/2 an inch or less into the wall then you need to put the shelf on and pull down tightly to get a snug fit. Unfortunately doing this also damaged teh paint on my walls. One shelf fits well, the other is uneven because it wouldn't fit snugly against the walls. I would suggest to choose a different shelf, or if you are dead set on these, at least try to get them on sale so you don't feel bad after you receieve them.

Just the perfect size that i needed. Very well made.

The shelf only has two unreinforced wooden slots on each end drilled to hold the shelf up. I think it will work short-term, but I'm skeptical about long-term reliability. The paint finish is not real smooth either; not enought paint or dried too fast. It's okay for the money. I'm thinking about using some separate hidden shelf brackets to hold it up better.

Basic shelf but have to agree with the weak mounting hardware and the locations for the screws aren't even located at multiples of 16" apart!! The only way to usefully mount the shelves is to nail diagonally through the main board into studs. The stock hardware uses two keyhole slots for screwheads to sink into. As I previously noted, these slots aren't spaced correctly for standard studs. Not concerned about the strength of the bolt heads, but the wood isn't strong, and neither is drywall. And I found it doesn't matter if you bought a 2' shelf or a 5' shelf. You have two tiny wood slots to trust anything you set on the shelf to. Poor poor poor. Plenty of sawdust to remove out of the slots before installation, too. Appearance is fine. My advice is to mock up a cardboard box to simulate the size. I was somewhat surprised with how low profile they are in reality. Had I not scored on the holiday deals, I'd be disappointed. They are decent shelves for the price I paid.

This is a 5" shelf but the hanging method is not adequate to hold. Shelves look nice but I am affraid they will not stay on the wall. Unfortunately the pics do not show how to hang. Dissapointed, I had to pay return freight.

We have had a lot of floating shelves in the past and this being the smallest one, it should have not been the least sturdy. The holes were not even so we had to adjust for that and then it will require some kind of support underneath if we ever want to feel sure that things will not slide off. Cute but not really made all that well.

Found the shelves easy to install, beautifully crafted. They look great. I will be ordering a couple more to compliment the ones I already have.

It looks true to what I saw online and I understand the quality of HDC, so I wasn't expecting top notch quality. But there is a huge flaw in this that there is no support in the center of the shelf. it's 5 feet long and all i have on there is a couple of framed pictures. It began to sag in the center so I had to construct my own support, which isn't cool. I was really disappointed in this product.

This shelf looks nice but the hanging design is poor. It causes the item to not hang flush - it seriously is a little slanted. to the average eye you may not notice, but it is. not worth spending the money to return the item.....also, we have purchased more expensive shelves that were simiiar from another higher end shop and are perfect. We know how to hang items and the flaws are not due to this.

These shelves are so attractive and easy to install. They really make a statement in the rooms they were put in.

This shelf was just what I wanted to go in my bathroom. I like the groove in the shelf to prop pictures/plates on it. Good find!!!

I purchased this shelf in 3 lengths - 24", 36" and 48" - to display framed photos in my family room. The construction and painting are very good. The shelves are nicely solid. The problem is that they're only held up by one screw on each end. I didn't find that to be a big problem with the shorter shelves, but the 48" one is simply too long to be held up by two screws, one at each end. The shelf tips away from the wall and we had to get small rubber "feet" to put on the bottom of the back to level out the shelf. Even then, it doesn't feel particularly solid. It's good enough for the light load I'm putting on it, but would definitely not recommend it for items having much weight.

We bought 2' and 3' natural ledges. The 2' front section (seen on the wall) looks like natural and oak. The rest of the piece is natural. We would expect some variance in wood colors, but this is pretty drastic. Also, the hardware only has 2 screws. These come in 12" increments, yet studs are 16" apart. So a 4' section would be the only one to work without going to a hardware store to buy anchors. For how much $ you pay for these shelves, I wish they provided anchors.

these shelves were very sturdy and very easy to hang, I purchased the black shelves, they were hung on a wall with taupe coloring, look very sharp!
