Achieved better results using this peat moss than I have in the past using straw for seeding new lawn, but it did take a lot of bags. I used about 1 bag per 250 sq ft. After I finished spreading w/ a peat moss spreader, it looked a tad bit thin, and I thought maybe I should have put a bit more down, but it did the job and the grass is coming in great.

Worked fine used it with grass seed and in about 10 days we had some new growth.

Sold online as Sunshine brand but sold under the brand name "Premier" in store with a white and green bag. Half or more of the bag is bark filler. what should have covered 1000 sqft for overseeding my lawn using a peat moss spreader came out to only cover maybe half that. I know peat moss is meant to dissolve in a few days, but it dissolved after a single watering. Horrible value and a total misrepresentation of what is offered since "sunshine" brand seems to be what gets the good reviews.

Great product, best price in town!

This looks like peatmoss but doesn't smell like peatmoss at all. I got 3 large bales and they all smell like poo! Smells like sewage mixed with peat! Nver getting this again

Well this was a surprise. Went over to my local Home Depot for my annual purchase of peat moss to cover up my reseeding job on the front lawn and use the rest for some seeding trays come early spring. Looked for the green and white bag Premier and couldn't spot any. What,no peat moss are you kidding! Kept looking and looking and stumbled upon the Sunshine brand. Peat moss is peat moss. I noticed a big difference. The Sunshine brand did not contain absolutely any pieces of branches in the bag. Usually I would have to sift through and remove the unwanted material before applying it to my lawn and seeding trays. Got to hand it over to the folks at Sunshine for doing the sifting for me. We'll impressed. Moss in a great product for over seeding or laying down a newly seeded lawn. You have to keep it moist for several days and the color change of the moss tells you when to water. Just keep it to a thin layer over the seeds. Better than garden soil in my opinion. For seedling trays, also a great product. Moss has no nutrient value so you control the amount of nutrients as your seedlings grow. They also make a #4 planting medium which is likely mostly peat with some questionable attributes but was double the price. May try in future though.

I use this often with my gardening and with my composting worms. Good value, always same consistency.

The SunShine peat moss was an excellent choice for protecting my seed from the elements. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone looking to add a layer of protection as well as a good water retention addition to your lawn.
