I had two of these installed by a Velux contractor. In year five--last year--one leaked above the LR. Velux sent out the same installer, who blamed the fire prinkler system---which is not even near the skylights, and was found in perfect condition by my insurance adjuster! Despite the ten-year warranty, and it being only year 5, Velux refuses to fix it! Lots of complaints on BBB re this. I guess they'll next blame aliens! I'll be suing them when the rain stops. We got a new roof last summer and purchased a roof window that opens manually. It has been working great! We love the design and ease with opening and closing the window. Velux makes great windows, highly recommended.

Quiet replacement for a cracked dome skylight. Easy install. Good price and appartent quality.

Installation has just been completed. The new skylights add so much more light and, now, also much-needed ventilation into the rooms. They open easily. The look is clean, crisp and contemporary. Very nice!

This Skylight is perfect for the room we put it over. Easy to install and doesn’t leak.

I just bought them and installed. That’s the best investment bought rooms( kitchen and sunny room) are very bright and when you open skylights a lot of fresh air and quick ventilation.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had three of these for 10 years with no problems or leaks. Just installed two more with flashing kt, installed and then tons of rain for a week and not a drop of water inside. Also purchased the blinds for these and I;ve mever been so impressed (50 years in the construction business). They fit in perfectly, run with a solar powered motor and a wall remote, the fit was perfect with no issues and they work flawlessly. I would not purchase any other manufacturer.

This skylight makes the room! It really does. Only complaint is the separate flashing kit that is needed to install and isn’t included. And it’s $115. Meaning this window costs $365 overall, not $250. So that part was disappointing - but in no way regretting the window - Fantastic light sourch and outlook.

Replaced old skylights. Had Velux products before so had great experience with the band. New skylights look amazing. They’re bright & give the room an airy feel. Easy to open. Satisfied customer!

Installed my skylight 10 years ago and no need for maintenance. Till this day no leaks. Absolutely beautiful addition for my dining area. I definitely recommend it. The only thing I regret was not getting the ones with built in shades. But I added powered shades with remote control and solar panels for the batteries.

Velux say lifetime warranty. Not true. I have 5 20 yr old skylights velux. All but on started to leak. Pro installer, no issue with anything but the garbage skylights. I do not recommend velux. Stay away. Second set in my lifetime. Leaking again. 20 yr max.

Had to replace four 30+ year old Velux skylights due to hail damage- two manual operation and two fixed. Love the new clean white interior appearance of the skylights, and ease of operation of the operable units. Looking forward to many more years of Velux bringing us natural light and fresh air!

I have a sunroom that had 3 very, very old skylights, which were starting to leak. My roof installer put in Velux Fresh Air Skylights as replacements. The glass is so clear, and they look lovely from inside and out. My only qualm is that the screens have a bit of a gap on each side, and I'm afraid little bugs will gain entry. Other than that, they're great!

Of course I meant to check each skylight before installation, but it's easy to get behind when you're getting a new roof and managing an entire upstairs renovation. 3 of the skylights were perfect, but the fourth was the worst caulking job I've ever seen- black caulk smeared across the skylight. I have no idea how this got past quality control, so I'm left assuming that there is no quality control. I've cleaned it up as best I can but it still sucks.

We had these skylights installed to replace very old ones. We chose hand operated ones and, while they work fine, wish Velux had used a crank rather that a turning screw to open and close the skylight. We also chose the solar-powered shade and are very pleased. The reason I gave it a 4 is because of the "screw."

Love these two skylights! Vents the cooking moisture and heat out of the kitchen. Brings in fresh air without the bugs. I added diffuser and grid support made from fluorescent lighting plastic. Pure sunlight was too harsh.

Fits like a glove.

The skylight fits like a glove on the flashing. Well designed and engineered, NO hassle with alignment or fitting, not often you'll find that the flashing kits fits exact with the skylight. I bought the 22 1/2 x 34 1/2, my review doesn't seem to go under the size of window I bought, anyways, great buy. I'm not a contractor, just a handy DIY guy. Thanks.

Six trouble-free years with our Velux manual fresh air skylights, and we look forward to many more! I love being able to look up at the trees and sky. Great to quickly cool down the house in the evenings, too.

Very satisfied with the product. Easy to install with the pamphlet guide and video. This is the product with no leak.

Just tested the hook.When I started to turn it by the rod, then it broke into 3 pieces right away. The hook is made by plastic which can not bear the twisting. Now I need to climb a ladder and use my hand to twist the hook manually every time I want to open the sky window.

We had 2 cracked dome plastic skylights that were over 25 years old. Now buying the domed type costs more than the flat glass, so we ended up buying 4 to make them all match. These VELUX Fixed Curb-Mount Skylights fit perfectly over our existing curbs! Installation was super easy. The flat profile looks so much better from the outside. And the clear glass really brightens the room!

My roofer ordered a manual fresh air skylight, there are several things that let us down. The only hand crank is designed to be used with a pole. Our light is at standing height and opening the light with the small crank attachment (only one included) is daunting and undesirable. The wall mount worked out of the box but when I tried to hook up the included wifi connection with the instructions on the directed app the switch no longer works. Very disappointed!! The window is stuck in the down position.

We installed a pair of 22.5" x 22.5" solar-powered, fresh-air venting skylights to replace a much older fixed skylight in a vaulted ceiling. UPS delivered both units in perfect condition, arriving here in Hawaii within a few days of it being shipped. The only qualm was finding quite a bit of plastic shavings trapped between the screen and the glass of the skylight, as though it was never cleaned out before testing and packaging the units. Those were easily swept out before the final installation. The installation was easy enough. The most difficult part was finding the "on" switch. There's an opening along the bottom, inside edge of the skylight, and the small red sliding switch was recessed well within that opening. I had to use the blunt end of a barbecue stick to move the switch to the "on" position. After that, programming the remote to operate this solar-powered skylight was simple. The existing curbs for the original skylights were actually slightly undersized which meant additional framing had to be added to the outer perimeter of the original curbs. While this meant the skylights were a perfect fit, it also meant that the screens can't be removed -- because the original light shaft is smaller than it should be for this skylight. We didn't want to cut into the roof and build a whole new curb since the existing one was working fine and wasn't leaking at all. And it's not a big deal that the screens can't be removed. It can still be cleaned when necessary. What caught our attention, when we were looking for a skylight that could be opened, was that these automatically close when it starts raining. We were concerned that one day the skylights would be accidentally left open during a typical unexpected Hawaiian rain shower. Testing it with an artificial rain shower from a garden hose proved that it works as advertised. The skylights open and close slowly, taking around 70 seconds to fully open or close. The best part is that these venting skylights keep hot air from building up due to the vaulted ceiling, and allow the fresh tradewinds to circulate through the room. Time will tell as to how well they hold up. But they worked perfectly the moment they were in place.

Easy install and it really brightens the room!

We had to replace our skylights when having our roof redone. These were the closest dimension we could find and they turned out beautifully.

Well made, easy to install. Recommend curb mounted application when installing into existing rafters that might not be spaced per required rough opening. Window crank and function could be improved, ie eight repetitions opens the window an inch (something like that but don't quote me) and the crank is a loop, like the end of an eye hook.

Very pleased with my Velux skylights! Well-made and carefully packaged. Instructions were extremely detailed and clear. Installation was straight-forward. The lights have been subjected to several heavy rains already, with no leaking whatsoever. Highly Recommended!
