We bought this KitchenAid KCM111OB a few years ago because we were please with our KitchenAid Fridge, Dishwasher, Hand Mixer, and Stand Mixer K5SS. We used it primarily in the winter, always kept it clean with hand washing and descaling. Until a few months ago it made great coffee. I filled the coffee pot as usual and put it on our formica counter to check the level. When I lifted the pot the entire bottom of the glass pot burst off right at the bottom of the handle and I had 12 cups of water all over the place. I can't tell you why this happened but looking at the pieces, the glass looks awfully thin. Look at the picture and you can decide.

Messy Basket Overflows with Grinds

Look Great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought 2 weeks ago after having a KitchenAid coffee maker for 10+ years.
This new unit leaks when making coffee- leaking is not from water tank/filter - but when the brew unit receives water from the tank...this is evident as the residue is water not combined coffee brown. I have Emailed this concern to KitchenAid, hopefully they will address by providing a fix or replacement!
This unit isn't cheap...comparably speaking. I purchased because of prior satisfaction and all of my kitchen appliances which are either KitchenAid or Whirlpool Gold, so the expectation of superior quality is a given (side by side refrig, dishwasher, over range microwave & blender).

Terrible carafe, terrible mess
Pour spout is terrible
I wasn’t going to leave a review, but every time I use my coffee maker...I get more and more disappointed with the make of this product. 1- EVERY SINGLE TIME I go to pour a cup of coffee....the pot leaks coffee all over the place because the lid on the carafe is offset. 2nd....when you lift the top to add your fresh coffee, water dribbles all over the machine (I always have to put a paper towel under the lid to catch the water). I want a coffee maker that I can use without having to continuously clean up after it, and having to clean up after each cup of coffee I pour. For what I paid for this coffee maker, it’s very disappointing.I’d return this....but sadly, I can’t find my receipt and extended warranty.

WET MESS! DONT BUY
I have had the machine for 6 months so now I think i can give it a fair review. It works and makes coffee. However, its poorly designed. When you open the lid after the coffee is made condensation pours all over the top and runs off on the counter. If its stored on a counter top that has over head cabinets you'll need to slide it out each time to use it. The clock does not keep time, it constantly is slow so you cant count on the program settings to work. The pot is designed so that when coffee is poured into the cup more condensation run off the edges and makes a mess every time. I would not purchase this again.

Love this coffee maker
I just bought my second one for our city apartment. While I would love to see a redesign of the original carafe as a merger with the current replacement, that is a small quibble. Favorite feature is the "bold" button to get the most from the coffee. Also like the audio beep for start and finish of the brewing cycle. When I was searching to replace my coffee maker, this was the best for aesthetics, features, and overall size.

Would not recommend
I received the coffee pot as a gift and I had to return it to Kitchenaid twice for issues with the brew basket. The spring was not low enough to fully engage the carafe so the water would not drain. Coffee grounds would spill out over the brew basket and down into the carafe so every cup of coffee was gritty with grounds. Very disappointed in the product, however Kitchenaid customer service is amazing! They walked me through the process to verify that it wasn't user-error and when it wasn't they promptly sent me a replacement- when the replacement did not work either they sent me a different model all together. I'm waiting on that one to arrive and have higher hopes! :)

Great Coffee Maker
I bought this a month ago. It makes a great cup of coffee. I like a good strong cup and the bold feature allows you to do that and use less coffee. I also like filling from the container at the back of the maker instead of from the coffee pot. The charcoal filter allows for a clean coffee flavor. I am Very satisfied.

Great coffee, but
We recieved this coffee maker as a gift late January, 2016. I like it better than our old Cuisinart. It makes great coffee, but you can not pour a cup of coffee without coffee dribbling down the pot. This leaves little puddles on the table or countertop. It's not a big puddle,as in the picture, but is still aggravating. That is why I cound not recomend it to a friend.

One Fantastic Coffee Maker
After the previous coffee maker didn't work for me after a month of use my girlfriend and I went looking for a decent one. Does the Trick - Unable to Locate Replacement Part

not working properly

Bad design
