A:  Thank you for your question. SKU #73014098 is designed for use with a vinyl sleeve and has a larger dimension. A composite post sleeve will not fit over it.

A:  Thank you for your question. Yes, the surface mount bracket can be installed on a composite deck, but will require additional bracing underneath to secure it to the deck, the same as with wood.

A:  Yes it can, BUT you must add additional framing/reinforcement. I used 5/16ths lag bolts into the rim joist on the 'outside' and added 2 X 6 blocking between the field joists to give a place to screw in the lags on the 'inside'. Simply bolting through the composite decking is a disaster waiting to happen.

A:  if using on composite, i would use bolts through the composite with washers, composit is generally much softer than wood and not as durable

A:  Thank you for your question. No, the surface mount is only for railing installation, not fencing, and does not include a sleeve. It includes the base mount and a wood 4x4 insert.

A:  Thank you for your question. You can paint the sleeves with a paint designed for PVC, but we cannot guarantee the long-term performance and it may require frequent touch-ups or re-application.

A:  I doubt it..... probably only comes with the pine....why would you need it if its an internal sleeve? It should not get any moisture......
