Very easy to assemble..

Purchased two of these kits and they worked great. Used the bolts supplied (which is supplied for concrete installation) on new wood steps at the front of my house. The bolts worked great. Drilled out pilot holes smaller than the supplied bolts and install the brackets on the stairs. Covered them with Veranda vynal post covers and installed Veranda stair railings and pickets. Worked great and looks fabulous. Just purchased two more sets of the bracket and post kits and two more stair and railing kits from Home Depot for another set of stairs I’m building on the side of my porch (photo).

I usually bury the 4x4 posts in the ground below frost level and trim to height I need. This process (bracket and post kit) made my job easier and it looks better.

These kits made it easy to install the posts for the railing, however, some of the posts were warped and somewhat wet, and had a bit of mold on them. Was not a problem though as the posts were covered up with a plastic sleeve.

Need stainless steel washers for leveling if concrete surface is uneven.

Great for securing to wood or concrete, easily done with tools I already had. Will buy again if needed.

I wish the wood post had been pressure treated. It worked well though. I had to shim with some coins because the deck wasn’t perfect. Once the bracket is on it’s a piece of cake.

They worked very well for my deck. I used 17 of them. It provided a sturdy foundation for the post and rails. Used long bolts and nuts to go through Veranda composite deck boards plus two 2 x 8s under the boards. I felt that they were over priced, though--especially since I had to purchase the additional hardware to install them (they only come with concrete screws). The wood posts are pre-milled which is nice, but the wood is not pressure treated. Not sure how long they will hold up, although I did cover them with plastic sleeves and tops.

Gives a solid base for the composite rail systems. I have never used it on concrete (yet), only on the surface of the deck, installing extra sub-framing to accommodate the bolts. This is a much better buy than the identical "Fibron" branded item. At the time of my purchase the "fibron" logo cost almost 50% more.

Great solution for mounting post on brick steps if desired. I used this product to replace my stair rails that were previously mounted in the ground which cause the base of the wood to rot over time. This product eliminates that issue. Highly recommend for all interested shoppers.

Screws are cheap. I snapped off 2 of the screws they give you while hand tightening them. I drilled the holes 1/4 in deeper than needed as well. Other than that good product.

Steel mount brackets were perfect for use with 4x4 sleeves on concrete pad. I only wish they were sold separately from the wood post kits as I already had them in custom cut lengths.

These posts work great with the Veranda Composite post covers. I used plastic shims and deck screws along with a 2’ level to set them.

Used with non-Veranda brand railings and had to drill hole thru steel for mounting brackets but worked fine.

Very decent product. I used the brackets to build a deck with pvc covers. Came out really nice. I wish they would sell the brackets separately. I know that they sell different brackets but not this same size.

4x4 had a twist making it hard to mount square. very sturdy though

Good product but matching with other veranda products was not user friendly.

I purchased this product for my son-in-law who is completing a deck added to the front of his house with no railing system. It seems to remedy the lack of intermediate post supports along the perimeter of this finished deck.

Although the welding and design of the metal fitting was very good, to be useful this product requires modification. The hole in the steel is meant (I believe) to line up with the lower rail mounting bracket -- it doesn't. I used a cutoff wheel to open the existing hole by extending the outside cuts up to 1" above the top of the center cut, removing a U-shaped piece of metal to allow picking up at least the bottom screw from the mounting bracket. As designed the bottom rail would have to be "on the deck." The outside of the vertical channel is fine at a standard 3.5 X 3.5". However, the post is milled to about 3 X 3 (in my opinion way too much) and the inside of the channel is about 3 1/4". A variety of shims (1/8" masonite, 1/4" vinyl lath and vinyl flooring strips) were used to create something close to a snug fit so that the mounting brackets would not be mounted in air/vinyl only. Without a strong bottom mount the first kid that climbed on the bottom rail would have a big surprise. This is far below my expectations of what a good, comprehensive design should be.

Relatively easy to mount the base and plumb it then insert the wood post and plumb it with screws through the holes provided in the base.

Easy to install and the post insert to the sleeve permits the post to be true regardless of the surface. Care needs to be taken when wrapping the post since the wrap kit is about a half inch bigger than the post. Also make sure you know where the 4th side without access at the bottom is facing.

This product arrived at our home in a timely manner. Everything was included to complete the job. We would purchase this product again.

Most of us who buy this product is putting it on veranda decking already put down why not give us the hardware and a easier way to install.
