Q:if I tape the vinyl sheet instead of glue down will I have a pocket in the flooring? In other words i have read that floating floors on wood subfloors can have a hollow sound. I read if directly attached that hollow sound wont happen

A: Floating floors refers to engineered wood or some sort of click style wood flooring. Vinyl flooring or polyvinyl carbonate flooring, which is what you’re referring to, should be glued down or taped. Some of the new vinyl flooring doesn’t even need that

A: I purchased the tape for seaming two sections of rolled flooring together. I’m not sure how long your seams or room dimensions you have. I would recommend measuring the lineal feet of your perimeter and seams to determine how many rolls you will need.

A: It is not recommended or warranted to bond to a painted surface. Keep in mind, the tape will bond to the paint and not the wooden subfloor. If the paint peels away, loss of bond can occur.
