A: I always pre-seal, its worth the effort!
A: Good afternoon, Sealing the tiles prior to grouting does generally make cleanup a bit easier. However, we would recommend you check as to which sealer may provide the results you're looking for, because natural stone's appearance can be affected by sealer. Penetrating sealer generally does not alter the look of the tile, but we recommend testing it out before committing to the whole area. Stone enhancing sealer will usually deepen the color of the natural stone and may have some gloss to it. We recommend the use of a modified thinset for installing this tile. Hope that helps!
A: Hi Bryan, Home Depot always recommends Custom Building Products installation materials, including grout and adhesives. The adhesive you use will be dictated by the subfloor that you are installing to. While concrete is always the best choice for a subfloor, there are other options such as drywall or plywood. The most versatile adhesive is Versabond Fortified Thinset Mortar http://thd.co/29Po1DR.The grout color you use is a matter of personal preference, so it is best if you ultimately decide what works for your installation Grout colors such as #60 Charcoal, #52 Tobacco Brown and #165 Delorean Gray are suitable options for coordinating with this item. Home Depot has dried grout samples in the flooring department, and we encourage pairing these with the tile prior to making a large purchase. As for the trowel, you will want to use a ¼ in. v-notch trowel. If you have any questions about the adhesive or grout, please contact Custom Building Products at 800-282-8786. If you have any further questions about the product, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!
A: Good Afternoon, There are no trim pieces that are intended to coordinate with this mosaic. Our Ardesia Gris Bullnose http://thd.co/1RYdVO9 is not intended to coordinate with this tile, but could complement this mosaic nicely. Also, when there are no coordinating trims available, we typically recommend SchluterTrim http://thd.co/1qBLqjw , which is found at the Home Depot. Being as coordinating is a matter of personal preference, you can decide for yourself whether you feel as though this works for your installation. We do not offer samples of trim pieces, so we recommend ordering one prior to compare to the mosaic. Home Depot offers a 90-day return policy on all unused items returned in the full quantity that they are sold (for trims, by the each). If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!
A: Good Afternoon, Yes, you can order a sample of this item! We offer samples of this tile adhered to 4.5” x 5” sample cards, giving you a color and texture sample of this tile. A: Yes, the tile is suitable for a shower floor.
A: This would be phenomenal on a shower floor. Just make sure you seal everything really well, because hard water spots would be hard to clean on both the tile and grout.
A: Good Afternoon, This tile is suitable for a shower floor! This tile is natural stone, so it will absorb little to no water. Also, this tile is highly skid-resistant, making it very safe for shower floor use. If you have any further questions, please reach out to our customer service team at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!
A: Good Afternoon, The spiral pattern is 2” wide, and cutting these any smaller than 2” will leave a partial pattern. If you need to cut the actual stone chips, we recommend using a wet saw or dry cutter. These offer a better cut with less chance of breakage. Tile nippers are another option, but will not allow for even cuts and could cause breakage. This tile is mesh-mounted, so depending on where you cut the sheet, you will not even need to cut the actual tile. The mesh can easily be cut into strips with common household scissors or a utility knife. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!
A: Hi Adam, For this product, you can opt to use either sanded or unsanded grout depending on the location you are installing the product. Being as this product should be installed with 1/8” grout lines, you can decide which type of grout you would like to use. Typically, grout lines less than 1/8” should have unsanded grout, and grout lines larger than 1/8” should have sanded grout. We never encourage using sanded grout with glass or metal tiles. When the grout lines are this 1/8” size, you can choose which grout you would like. For floor installations, we recommend using sanded, but for wall installations you can choose whether you would like sanded or unsanded grout. Home Depot recommends Custom Building Products installation materials. They also carry sealers that can be used with this product. For a natural stone mosaic, we encourage using a penetrating sealer, such as their Aqua Mix Penetrating Sealer http://thd.co/1TFzOUL. This will provide the most natural look for your installation, however it could still alter the appearance of the tile, so we encourage testing a scrap piece prior to sealing the installation. Follow directions on the packaging exactly for the best results. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!
A: This can be used as a backsplash.
A: Good Afternoon, This tile can be used as a backsplash in any space. This tile is natural stone, so it will absorb little to no water. If you were planning to use this near a stove, as long as this and any of our tiles do not come into contact with direct flame, this tile will not be affected by the indirect heat that the stove will give off. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!

A: Hi Rod! You can drill this tile with a masonry bit to install a sink to the wall. If possible, we would recommend measuring out the spots that need to be drilled and drill it prior to installing it onto the wall. This will help prevent damage to the installation. If you do drill prior to installing, do your best to clean the wet adhesive and grout away from these spots to make installing the sink easier. For advice about this installation, you may want to reach out to a local contractor. If you have any further questions, please reach out to our customer service team at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!
