A:  HI David, A polymer modified thinset is great for installing this natural slate mosaic! While we always recommend taking down the existing tile prior to installing the new one, it is possible to install over tile under certain conditions. The tile you are installing over cannot be sealed, being as sealer acts as a bond breaker. Also, this tile needs to be flat and even or else the new tile will not have a proper surface.
