Answer This Question
A: Hi shipdriver, thanks for the question. Our Mold & Milder Spray Primer is a good choice for priming pine soffits to protect them from mold and mildew. If there is any existing mold or mildew, it needs to be removed before priming. You can use both oil-based or acrylic/water-based paint over the primer. Have a great day! -Ronald

Q:I prepped my cabinets for primer by first cleaning them with a degreaser and then using a deglosser instead of sanding. Will this product work for priming and also prevent bleed through from the stain that is underneath?

Answer This Question
A: Hi Blac, thank you for your question. As it turns out, we don't advise using any of our primers on bathtubs because they are not designed to be submerged in water or have constant contact with it. This can cause the product to fail, and we want to ensure that your project is a successful one. Instead, we recommend you visit your local hardware store and ask for a product recommendation best suited for your specific project needs. Good luck with your project! - Alex

A: Hi Timmy, thank you for your question. The Kilz Mold and Mildew Primer can be applied to plaster walls, providing excellent stain-blocking benefits. However, it's hard to say exactly what could be causing this to occur on the ceiling. If the liquid has left a stain on the ceiling, we recommend thoroughly cleaning and allowing the surface to dry before spot priming using the Kilz 3 Premium Heavy-Duty Stain-Blocking Primer or Kilz Original Primer and top coating with your preferred paint. Have a great day! - Randy
