Q:Can this be attached to a brick exterior wall with Tapcons? If so, what size would you recommend (NW Georgia..5 lb snow load). Also, since we will nave to reduce post height to fit under the eaves, what slope would you recommend?

    Answer This Question

A:  Hello SuznH, Very good question... Brick is not considered structural.... unlike concrete CMU blocks which are. When attaching to a brick wall you would need to fasten a wood ledger 2" x __" to the brick wall using long lag screws penetrating through the brick into the wood frame wall studs and headers behind the brick veneer....sealing it to the brick with a good quality sealant. Then cover the wood ledger with aluminum fascia you can get from the Home Depot. reseal along thde top opf the ledgeer. Then proceed to install the patio cover kit to the wood ledger. The minimum roof pitch for this 12ft deep cover would be 6 inches. Thank you. B

A:  Hello Deck, There is some flexibility on post location but there are engineering design limitations. If you would please email us your city, state, the model you are consisdering along with the post spacing you anticipate you are needing so we can review the engineering information and comment back to you. Typically the first and last posts are set in 18nches from each end....then the reamaining posts are equally spaced. Please send your email to info@integrapatios.com Thank you B

Q:Can i use this on a 7 foot deep patio and have a 1 foot overhang?

        Answer This Question

A:  Hello Gary, Not as it is because the structural aluminum Front Fascia/Gutter and posts will be at the end of the roof panels @ 8 ft. The design of this kit does not have a front roof overhang. You could cut 12 inches off the roof panels to fit your patio.... (tip- cut the end that fastens to the Front Fascia/Gutter) Thank you W

Q:For the 20’ x 10’ cover, is it possible to add a steel beam across the span so that only 2 support posts are needed on the corners? This would be a much cleaner looking installation.

          Answer This Question

A:  Hi TomB The kits are designed/engineered to meet the 115 mph windpseed and various snow loads as described. In this model, the extruded Aluminum Front Fascia/Gutter is the structural suppoprt for the roof panels and the posts are connected directly to the bottom of it. FYI the installation instructions are on the Home Depot website for your review, download and or printing.... then you can determine if yiou want to/are able to do some in the field "home engineering." Thank you B

Q:We have an existing aluminum screened porch…can this be attached to that? What’s an alternative if you don’t have a cement or block patio. This would be going over part of our dog run which is pea gravel.
