A: 1. Ratio scales are read horizontally.
2. Find the ratio required using the ratios
found on the top of the columns. For
example 3:1:1.
3. Determine the total mixed volume
required as shown by the “1” through
“5” (depending on the size container
you are using) in the farthest right hand
column of your selected ratio scale.
4. Each liquid is poured to the number that
matches the volume you want.
For example, if the volume you want in
the 3:1:1 ratio column corresponds to
number 2 - pour the first liquid into the
container to the 2 line in the first
column, pour the second liquid into the
container to raise the volume to the 2
line in the second column, then pour
the third liquid in until the volume
reaches the 2 line in the 3rd column
