A:  Wow this is a really old question but I hope this is helpful. Yes you can use it for soapmaking. Remember that this can melt so don’t pour super hot things into it

A:  Hello Mello, I assume you are asking about using lye in the containers? We do not have an specific data on how lye will react. HHDPE has a melting point of about 130 degrees F but typically does not react to solvents. These containers have a wall thickness of .025" so they are relatively thin. From what I quickly saw online, they suggest using stainless steel (not metal) or ceramic. Safety first!

Q:Can you store paint in this long-term, or will the plastic deteriorate over time?

A:  I store latex paint in this for over couple of years. paint became moldy, plastic was fine. The lid might not seal tightly. Threw everything out. Look for something else.

A:  Hi Nick, our plastic pails are not made for long-term storage and we have no data on how long they will last. That being said, you can store water- or latex-based paints for some time just keep the container from extremes of temperature - especially freezing temps - and keep it tightly sealed. Keeping air out of the container is key. I've seen estimates that you can keep paint this way for 2-3 years. Oil-based paints will erode the plastic much quicker.

        Answer This Question

A:  Hi Burt, these containers are not made for long term oil storage. You should also not drain hot oil into them. Your best bet is to use an approved oil drain pan. check with your local recycling center for the best way to dispose of it. Some auto care centers or auto parts stores offer motor oil recycling.

A:  About 4". This is only a quart size. About 4 dia x 5" high. Wayyyy too small for a kittie.

          by|Dec 9, 2020

A:  The 1 quart containers have a bottom diameter of 3.375" and a top diameter of 4.625". They are 5.5625" tall. I guess it will depend on the size of your cat.

A:  Yes, you can store paint in the multi-mix pail. Keep the container from extremes of temperature - especially freezing temps - and keep it tightly sealed. While I don't have specifics n how long it will keep, note that oil-based paint may eventually eat through the plastic. Latex or water-based paints will not have that effect and can be stored long-term. You can find the lid by searching Internet# 202264025 on homedepot.com

A:  1. Ratio scales are read horizontally. 2. Find the ratio required using the ratios found on the top of the columns. For example 3:1:1. 3. Determine the total mixed volume required as shown by the “1” through “5” (depending on the size container you are using) in the farthest right hand column of your selected ratio scale. 4. Each liquid is poured to the number that matches the volume you want. For example, if the volume you want in the 3:1:1 ratio column corresponds to number 2 - pour the first liquid into the container to the 2 line in the first column, pour the second liquid into the container to raise the volume to the 2 line in the second column, then pour the third liquid in until the volume reaches the 2 line in the 3rd column. 5. Mix well.
