A: No, the DW088K will not shoot like a plumb laser. You may want to take a look at the DW0822.

A: Not that I can tell. The self - leveling feature doesn’t allow it to do that.

A: The unit is made to work from floor level up and has great coverage at close distances. However, not if it's on a tripod. When the unit is about 36" above the floor, the tripod needs to be about 6'-8' from the wall to get the line to go down to the floor.

A: Yes, as long as you have the unit set in a “reasonably” level condition. I had mine hung on a wall that was “wavy” ...I had to put a wedge under the bottom, Then it worked great.

A: Depends. If your using the verticle line, yes, it can reach the ceiling. I used it for mounting a bathroom vanity and keeping the vanity level, worked great.

Q:does the laser have a locking mode to protect laser

Answer This Question
A: No. It is self leveling. I had it mounted onto tri pod, and bumped the tripod a couple times while putting cabinets in place, and when it settled, it was still right on the money. I checked the line several times and it never moved. As long as it is mounted right, I don't see a problem with the line needing a lock.

A: Nope, DeWalt thinks it's tough enough it doesn't need it's pendulum locked.

A: Pendulum lock is so the pendulum doesn't get knock around during transportation. DeWalt considers that this laser level does not need a lock to stay accurate. (It can bounce around in your work truck. Maybe that's why it comes with a case?) If you do get a laser lever that does have a pendulum lock, make sure the lock in integrated with the on/off switch.

A: sorry , no .
There is mechanism to limit swinging of pendulum (amplitude, frequency) ,but not lockable manually.
Why not ? or they think it is tough enough to withstand . It causes more question and comparison and make think twice before buying it.

A: Yes it is self leveling
by|May 4, 2023
A: Yes, it is self-leveling. However, there is a limit to how much it can correct for. If you're setting it on something that's "pretty level" (but not perfectly level), it will self-level. Also, if it can't self-level, it blinks at you - so you know you need to shim it or something to get it closer to level so it can auto-adjust.

A: Yes it is self leveling. It will blink if not in level. It does not make a beeping noise as some other level do when out of level.

A: Not sure I understand the question. It has separate buttons to turn on/off a horizontal and vertical line independently. You can shoot a horizontal line, a vertical line, or both.

A: Yes. Horizontal and vertical lines have separate switches, and can be used either together or separate.
