A:  1 Make sure you have a perfectly even cut end (don't use a knife) 2 Make sure that the pipe is inserted ALL the way into the unit 3 Dont remove/re-insert pipe too many times (more than 3-4?) in the same socket as the lubricant on the gasket inside will get thin, possibly affecting seal

              by|Jul 17, 2019

A:  I have used these extensively - and never had a leak. From your photo - it appears that there may be some pressure on the Pex pipe, it could be possible that this pressure may be preventing the seal needed.

A:  I've had this issue, after buying a replacement we found that the pex pipe had some surface inconsistencies. Sanding the connection point of the pex lightly fixed the issue.

A:  Not very much, maybe 1” If you are trying splice you are better off using the slip tee instead https://www.homedepot.com/p/SharkBite-1-2-in-Brass-Push-to-Connect-Slip-Tee-U3362LFA/202270604

A:  Normally I would say to use a Slip T, but Sharkbite does not make a reducing Slip T. The insertion depth for a 3/4" Sharkbite fitting is 1.125". Measure your fitting and then add back the 2.25"(1.125" x 2). If you have a U412 fitting, it measures 3.04". This information can be found on the Sharkbite website in their Engineering download: http://www.sharkbite.com/sharkbite/wp-content/uploads/SB_Engineering_SpecPackage_2014-English.pdf

A:  Measure from end to end of the tee and then deduct twice the length of the insertion depth you need on each end of the pipe: 3/4″ Pipe Insertion Depth = 1-1/8″ You can go to www.sharkbite.com and watch a short training video on how the push to connect fittings work. A:  You can remove up to 2 "s. If the pipe you are cutting into has a little wiggle room you are good to cut. Be sure to sand or file any rough edge off after you cut the pipe. Make sure you push the cut pieces in till they click.

A:  Not recommended. the plastic expands and contacts at a different rate from copper heat pipes. It can fail. as a quick fix it is fine.

All Standard SharkBite fittings will work on Copper, PEX and CPVC, so the fitting you've inquired about will work on Copper, PEX, CPVC but you'd need to buy a transition fitting to use on the Poly-B. The Poly B fitting is available on Hd.com and in-stores. Thank you for your inquiry.
