A: It’s not the fan, it’s the motor that turns the light effect.

A: Hello, yes mine is very quiet. You can hear the fan but I do not think it is loud. One thing to add: the fan is only on when the heater is on. The flicker flame does not use the fan...You have a choice of either using the flicker only or the flicker in combo with the heater.

Q:Can you program a universal remote to this device if you don't have the original?

Answer This Question
A: Hello, I would think not. The remote is not comparable to a television/DVD/VCR remote. It is a very inexpensive one similar to a remote that the flame less candles use and is really not of good quality...

A: Yes, the heat pushes out from a vent in the lower front of the unit. My fireplace has a drop-down from the hearth. I bought bricks and placed the unit on these so that the heat would move out freely.

A: My crude measurement is 6 feet, (I was not going to move all the things needed to get a precise measurement)
by|Dec 11, 2019
A: I have sort of permanently installed this in my fireplace and had to alter the cord a bit. But as I remember it was originally about 5 to 6 feet long. It is a very good quality heavy cord...Sorry I could not give an exact length...

Q:Do you need to plug in and if so doesn't it look weird having a cord running out of the fireplace?

Answer This Question
A: Yes it may. I have glass doors on my fireplace with a circulating fan. I was able to thread the cord under the glass doors and hook it up to the existing wiring under the front grill. A friend also bought one last year and they do not have glass doors or a circulating fan. They were able to just lay the cord out of the side of the fireplace and it does not look too bad...

A: Hi Mike, yes, this electric fireplace log set does need to be plugged into an electrical outlet. Many electrical fireplaces have an outlet located in the back of the unit for easy accessibility.

Q:There’s no actual ventilation like there would be a real fireplace which is why I ask. It’s basicaly a thick wood frame with a cutout in the middle which was just used decoratively with candles but now I’d like to add something that really gives off heat and looks like a real fireplace.
