A:  We have in a master bedroom fireplace. Room is pretty big @ 24’ x16’. Not the only source of heat- we have radiator but adds nice warmth on cold winter day 

A:  I can't answer whether the company will replace the remote if defective. I would try another battery, and also verify the Infrared "eye" (sensor) is not blocked or being obstructed on the unit when you aim the remote at the heater.
