Q:It is discontinued? Why is it here?

Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. I apologize, but this is a discontinued product and no longer manufactured.

by|Oct 27, 2023

A:  I went to my history and clicked on my order as if I was going to purchase more. When the link came up, I clicked on it. http://www.homedepot.com/p/TrafficMASTER-Allure-6-in-x-36-in-Brazilian-Cherry-Luxury-Vinyl-Plank-Flooring-24-sq-ft-case-538115/100644803 Indeed, it says it's been discontinued. I'd contact several stores in your area directly, or perhaps call Home Depot at their main number: (1-800-466-3337) Maybe they can help you. It's a gorgeous color and it's been around quite a while. I can't imagine why it would be discontinued. I hope you have luck finding enough to do your project. We'd been doing one room at a time, and haven't done the hall, yet, so I'm hoping we have enough left from our other projects.

    Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. This product is not warrantied for use if glued together, it also should not be installed in a sun-room. The Allure Ultra, Home Decorators, and LifeProof brands are 100% waterproof.

    by|May 4, 2023

A:  The vinyl planks you are considering don't have a locking mechanism like regular plank floors. They have glue strips on there already. We put them in our laundry room, but we didn't do anything special. I'd be hesitant to glue them down because if you ever wanted to change them, it would probably cost a fortune to remove. Maybe call the Home Depot main number ((1-800-466-3337). Ask them to send you copies of the warranties for the brands that are 100% waterproof. This one is considered waterproof, but 1) it's probably not 100%, and 2), this color has been discontinued. Good luck!

Q:Would it be OK to install this product on a floor that isn't perfectly flat? If so what's the tolerance? Tyia!
      by|Mar 15, 2017

      Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. The floor flatness tolerance is 1/4" over 10'. A floor leveler should be used when exceeding tolerance.

      by|May 4, 2023

A:  Our floor in the laundry isn't perfectly flat, and it installed great! It's been down about six months, and we love it. Our daughter and her hubby installed it in their older mobile home while in college and it did great and those floors were definitely uneven. If it's mostly flat, you'll be fine. The vinyl gives a bit.

        by|May 4, 2023

A:  Hello Shaun41 and thank you for your question. Your subfloor must be sturdy, flat, and have little flexibility. The manufacturer specifies that the floor flatness tolerance should be 1/4 inch over 10 feet. You should plan to use a floor leveler if that tolerance is exceeded. Best wishes on your project.

Q:Does this flooring need an underlayment
        by|Mar 15, 2017

        Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. A 6 mil poly moisture barrier should be used over concrete only. A moisture barrier is not necessary when installing over any other type of acceptable subfloor.

        by|May 4, 2023

          A:  No underlayment

          by|Jun 6, 2017

A:  No. We've installed it directly over concrete. We've also installed it directly over damaged laminate floors after sanding down the badly warped spots. And we've installed it over old vinyl flooring. Our adult children have also used it. All of us are pleased at the ease of installation.

We've been replacing our laminate floors (which are not pet friendly) with these vinyl planks. They look so nice and have texture which makes them especially pretty. We've been very happy with them.

Not a Quality Product - Do Not Buy
Traffic Master Allure Cherry Plank Flooring I installed this flooring on my main floor, which consists of the living room, kitchen, and dining room. In all it is about 600 sq ft. The instructions say you can lay the Allure over the existing floor, which is what I did. What a mistake that was. The only good things I have to say about this flooring is that it was easy to install and does look good and feels nice on the feet. It also is flexible, which is the main reason why I bought it. It was also featured on a Canadian home reno show, so I thought it would be a good product. There is a bit of a hump in the middle of my floor. Unfortunately, I have a lot of bad things to say about the Allure flooring. 1) Indentations - If you lay over the previous flooring, like vinyl, what happens over time is anything heavy like a fridge, movable island, couch, etc, will put permanent indentations in the Allure that you cannot remove. We needed to move the stove and fridge to get behind it and in both cases it left permanent indentations. You can clearly see where the wheels were rolling. This was over a year ago and it's still easily visible. I believe if the Allure was only laid on top of something hard like the floor sheathing this would not be an issue. Perhaps they should have a warning about this. 2) Splitting Joints - When I laid this floor I was extremely careful to make sure the joints lined up perfectly. There were only a couple planks in the entire installation that I didn't get perfect. I have noticed in the year since I have installed it that anywhere there is something heavy, like my fridge or the island, the joint has split about an 1/16th - 1/8th of an inch. I attribute this to the wheels indenting the flooring and pulling in back as it does so. 3) Scratches Easily - It clearly states that it's "super durable". Really?? I have two 8 pound Papillons that disagree. Their nails are routinely clipped and they scratch it like crazy. They don't scratch the colour away, it's whatever coating the floor has. I find it quite noticeable. Overall though I find the floor scratches rather easily compared to laminate at half the cost. There are a few spots where it's scratched down through the colour. It is not resilient at all. In conclusion, I seriously regret buying the Traffic Master Allure Cherry Plank Flooring. I could have paid a lot less money for another flooring that I know I would have been a lot more happy with. If I didn't have to rip out all the expensive baseboard I put in, I would gladly rip this out and start over again. It is always a constant irritation to me and my wife gets angry when I bring it up.

              Looks great!
Just finished installing in our kitchen, looks great. Easy to install once you get the hang of placement, be sure to get your first edges together properly so it lays tight, trying to separate the pieces after stuck together was very tough. Also adhesive will catch dirt, pet hair, etc so try to keep the area clean. We did get some scuff marks when moving the fridge even though we used padding under it. One carton of planks had 3 broken ones but were able to use them for cut pieces. Overall very pleased with this floor.

              Excellent Product and Cost
The ease of installation of this product allowed for the finished look to be that of a real wood floor that was professionally installed. The flooring installation was quicker than other types of floors and looks great when completed.

              Great Flooring
We love our Allure flooring. We have had nothing but positive comments. We first did the entrance ha;; way. Every time we show our friends pictures of our flooring they love it. Most of them tell us that they want it for their home. It has made us so proud of the work we have done. It was simple to install. It was work, but the floors speak for themselves. We loved it so much and it looked so good that we did the rest of our home. The only room that was left with carpet was our grandbabies bed room. We highly recommend this flooring.

              Fantastic Product!
So satisfied with TrafficMaster's Allure Vinyl Plank Flooring! I recently moved into a new home and wanted to make my basement more livable without breaking the bank. The Home Depot worker steered me toward this vinyl plank flooring and at first I thought they were really trying to promote this new product but after explaining how easy installation would be, how cost effective it was, and how durable it would be in a basement setting, I was sold. I used this in two rooms plus the hallway in my basement and it looks like real hardwood! Of course every project has it's kinks so for this one I'd say that you would need a really, REALLY good utility knife to cut the planks. I had my trusty Husky utility knife but I still needed to go over lines repeatedly to finally get the plank to break. It is also a real pain when you need to cut narrow pieces. This is why I took away a star for "Ease of Installation," otherwise, this really is a great product!

Need a stair covering option to match
I laid the brazillian cherry allure in my finished basement space which is around 475 sq ft. It went down very easily and it completely changes the look of the basement. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a simple to install, cost effective, good looking flooring option.

              Love it!
I used this in a rental for durability from tenants and also the appearance looks fantastic. I am super happy with this product. I installed it everywhere in a 900 square foot 2 bed 1 bath apartment and it looks great. This installs way easier than most flooring but it still takes some time and attention to detail. For example I installed all of it myself and it took 3 solid full days to install with no help from others. Advice, the planks have the sticky side which hook onto each other so start on the farthest wall in a corner and work out from there so you will always have a sticky tab to connect pieces with. This didn't seem that big of deal but when I was going from bedroom to living room etc I realized that I started at the wrong spot and should've started in another room on the far wall. It all feeds off of each other and needs that lip. I started in the main hall but then had an issue trying to install into a bedroom which was on the opposite side of the sticky side. So basically work from your farthest point and move across the floor from there. I have been able to scratch this moving furniture etc but I can barely see the scratches so no complaints from me. It still looks great. Water doesn't phase it because I spilled plenty of buckets of water on it. I would buy and install this product again.

              Great Product
Easy to install and look great. If you have kids and pets it is the way to go! Have this floor in the kitchen and decided to do the dinning room as well, small differences from the first design even if it is the same wood and color. it still looks great.
