Display is hard to read
This microwave was part of a complete Fridgidaire GALLERY package installed in our new home by the builder. All the other units have bright green displays, except the microwave unit. It is installed in a cabinet and when standing directly in front of the unit the display is almost illegible and dim. Electrolux sent a replacement unit. Identical problem. Bad,bad design of the microwave display. It doesn’t match the test of the Gallery family. Very disappointed.

I purchased this microwave with the trim kit to put into my kitchen island. It all fit nicely into the cabinet I purchased for it and it was fairly simple to put in place. The microwave power seems very good and the controls and display are easy to use. My only complaint so far is that the button to release the door sometimes does not completely release it, meaning I am unable to get the door open unless I reach under the door to help it open. It can be frustrating and it happens randomly. This may seem like a rather small issue, but for the money I spent on this microwave, I certainly don't feel that this should be an issue. It has been in use for approximately 3 months and started happening within the last 30 days.

Favorite Kitchen Appliance

The price was comparable to other brands of this size but this particular model has lots of additional features. The sensor heat feature in particular has worked surprisingly well. No more accidentally overheated exploding foods! The microwave looks fantastic and was easy to install.

Great microwave and decent trim kit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did not want my microwave over the range with other interfering when I am trying to cook. I decided to put it in a 27" wall cabinet. I wanted a built-in microwave but most of them the door flips down making it difficult to get things out especially for short people. After tons of research, the only option is a counter top microwave with a trim kit. I am very particular and a built-in microwave that gave a expensive look with the trim kit being stainless steel (metal). Turns out the only company that makes that is Bosch and the trim kit is rather tall so would work for most applications. My wall cabinet has doors toward the top and the trim kit was going to hit the bottom of the doors so I was back to the drawing board. For other manufacturers, the trim kit is completely plastic which looks cheap or there is a large gap between the trim kit and the side of the doors. This trim kit is also plastic but has a stainless steel skin. The trim kit matches the microwave very well and I am overall very pleased. There appears to be a small gap on either side of the door and this has to be there so the door can open. However, this kit is designed such that the trim kit is curved near the door so although there appears to be a slit gap, you cannot see inside or stick your fingers in there. This is not the case with other trim kits. This microwave is huge compared to others and I wanted a big microwave. I would recommend this setup.

My wife really likes this microwave, she said I did good. It has a lot of power for very quick heating and plenty of lower power settings when 1200 watts is just too much. It has tons of pre-programmed cook settings, including one for chicken nuggets. It's easy enough to use that my 7 to 10 year old grandkids can make lunch for themselves and their younger siblings. Put 6 chicken nuggets or pizza rolls on a paper plate, pop it in the microwave and push a button. Grab a bag of chips, an apple, a Capri Sun and Voila'. It makes them feel so grown up and independent.
We bought the stainless steel model and opted for the 27" black trim kit to better match the existing appliances. The trim kit is made of plastic but it is good quality.and serves it purpose nicely. I don't think it looks the least bit cheap like some of the reviews say on that product page. I've included a picture so you can judge for yourself.
In case you're wondering, the trim kit part # is MWTK27K for the 27" and MWTK30K for the 30". If you go to www.homedepot.com and type either one of those numbers in the search bar, it will bring up all of the available colors in that size.
