THE PEOPLE AT THIS STORE ARE HELPFUL AND THE STORE IS KEPT SAFE AND CLEAN. HOWEVER HOME DEPOT IS CUTTING STAFF WHICH IS MAKING THE EXPERIENCE POOR.

Someone quickly asked how they could help me and found an associate to help right away. The associate was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was able to leave quickly and get back to my project!

We switched to this store from a closer store to us, because this store has associates that care about their customers, because this store is neat and clean as a store should be, because if a product is not on the shelf, the associate works hard to get one for you, and because it has wonderful associates.

The store was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. I did not need to search out an employee. I was especially please with the assistance I received in the floor covering department. Although I was just beginning to research a possible future purchase, and probably at a Home Depot out of the area, the salesperson was very helpful. He offered a wealth of information to help me decide on product, yet kept the interaction conversational. I did not feel pressured and will return to this store for future purchases.

The South Elgin and Algonquin are excellent. Cheerful, helpful and knowledgeable employees. The one in Elgin was just the opposite.

Self check outs are my pet peeve. I needed someone any way because the scanner did not work. There were plenty of employees wandering around, one might as well be on a register. No registers were open except self checkout. My visit was at 9:12 AM and there were more employees than customers.

Store is conveniently located and all the employees are very helpful

Needed to place specialty flooring order, Jennifer won me over after first lady in flooring department couldn't answer my questions then said she was on phone (really.?.) she called for Jennifer who was great...recommend her...first rate and knowledgeable

Went to pick up closet organizer at this location, and was blown away by all the employees who offered help! From aisle help to cashier to help loading our purchase. Great store!

Purchased 50 gal.water heater online. Never received the "Item Ready for Pick up" email as indicated online. Stopped for another reason and found out item was indeed ready. Email address was correct, as the receipt was emailed to me.

Chris in the painting department was extremely knowledgeable and extremely friendly! Really outdoes himself in providing excellent customer service and tips!

Always friendly and helpful

I was at this store at 5:50 PM on 8/03/17 and waited at the paint area for more than 10 minutes without a single paint rep there nor any other store associate offering any help or to go find a paint rep. I then asked one of the two nearby cashiers (who were standing there just talking with each other) if they could please call a paint rep to come over and they said they would call. I waited another 10 minutes and still no rep. By now, several other customers had also come to the paint area, wanting help. I had to ask another store associate to please call someone and they finally did. Seven minutes later (I'd now waited close to 30 minutes), a Home Depot store associate meandered over and instead of asking which of us customers was there first, she just went to one of the later arriving customers and helped them. Eight minutes later, she came over to me to offer help. I asked her a few questions about paint and she wasn't helpful and didn't offer to get a paint specialist so I ended up leaving the store, without any paint to go buy it at Lowe's instead. Home Depots usually offer really good service and the one I normally visit in Algonquin is excellent closer to where I live. This Home Depot was close to my employer so now on, I'll likely save my trips to just go to the Algonquin Home Depot store.

There are 2 Home Depot's, a Menards', and a Lowe's within a 15 mile radius - not to mention several Ace Hardware stores, but the location and service at the South Elgin store is commendable. I've gotten product and helpful tips in a variety of areas from home improvements and repairs to gardening. Glad it's here!
