Don’t go to Home Depot for advice on appliances. Do your homework and then go to HD to purchase.

This store is the dirtiest Home Depot I have ever been to. Also you get bothered by homeless people every time, risky leaving your car in car park, no security any where.

If this is the only big box hardware store that is convenient to your project or home base... then so be it. Otherwise, bring with you, a friend or security. The first thing you will have to endure is the worst, nastiest homeless encampments this side of a zombie apocalypse, coupled with at least 100 day laborers waving, flagging and generally soliciting your attention. Inside doesn't necessarily mean you will receive customer service, as some employees don't use their "inside" voices when talking from the front of the store to the back. I was passed by many employees, none of which asked if I needed assistance. There were no shopping carts at the front, I counted more than a dozen in the homeless apocalypse... so I asked 3 associates in the paint department if I could condense one of the 4 carts they had parked with damaged merchandise in them, and use it for shopping. They looked at me as if they were afraid to talk or speech was void of their service. The cashier outside was friendly. She attempted to scan my mobile telephone which was awkward. The wait in line was approximately 20+ minutes, which was excessive. However, security chasing down apparent, homeless shoplifters provided for a diversion to pass the time.

This is a terrible store with a poorly ran operation with very very lazy staff. Products are all all over the place and the store is heavily disorganized. There are available workers but they are all too lazy and pre-occupied with chit chatting (with each other) to help customers. Associates are not helpful and even some of the Assistant Store Managers (ASMs) seem questionable.

No HD has enough staff but using the HD iPhone app makes me confident they have what I need before I drive there, makes finding it much easier, and the on-duty aprons here are generally responsive, helpful and cheerful. I can always find parking, products are well-stocked, store clean and well lit. They stay current with technology, keep their self-checkout working and supervised so it's very rare to experience long checkout lines. If they have what I need, this is where I'll go to buy it.

I want to thank Grayson Givens at the 4000 Alameda Avenue Oakland, Ca 510-533-7379 on 11/21/18. We were shopping for some dura flame logs and we met with Grayson, and he was very proactive in helping us, and we ending up buying around $100 worth of merchandise. He went beyond the call of duty in checking the status of the merchandise He checked on the status and helped us with check out and loading into our vehicle. We were so impressed by his efforts. What a friendly, conscientious and professional employee! THANK YOU GRESYON for really setting a great example for all of us!!

Rudest and least helpful girl working at the return counter. This is your job, show some semblance of respect to your customers.

The store has bigger and more stocks available than other branches. The only thing is that is so but then short of associates that can ask for aasistance that has knowledge in particular department and they should have a pushbutton to ring associate for assistance if needed in a department so customers will not waste time to look around for help then end up of talking to associates that are nit really has knowledge to it. But yeah will still recommend this store for wide variety availability of items. Thanks

Paint dept can use some more pleasant employees....who's willing to actually provide customer service, listen to customers needs. don't give attitude can use more cashiers, lines are long

Helpful friendly courteous staff was greeted by Cory. He helped us with our laminate flooring needs from start to finish. Even mentioned things we overlooked to ensure we'd have everything we needed for a successful project. Will definitely look here first on the next project.

Cashier Janice (#555) was so sweet and kind, she made me forget for a moment how crappy the Oakland Home Depot is. Janice had great personal and customer service characteristics. Give that woman a raise and have her teach the rest of the Oakland HD staff how to act professional and courteous. Then the rude security guard reminded me I was in Oakland. I would never shop this store if I had any other option nearby. The next closest HD is about a 45 minute drive, which I do when I need actual assistance like buying windows or doors. I hope Janice will always be my cashier.

My sister and I went there to look for a 24 in washing machine. The store was clean of course. We were walking toward the back of the store but, before we reached it,Lamadio asked us how he could help, and escorted us to the area. He was friendly and knowledgeable of the different kinds of washers. If we did not get help with him taking the time to explain and search for the best item in size and function ,we probably would have left the store empty handed. Thank you again so much to Lamadio.

This store is amazing! The employees are helpful and friendly. I was wandering around looking for something and an employee came up and asked me if they could help me find something. New stock is constantly coming in. Customer Serviceis great!!!
