Home Depot would not install our new washing machine although we paid for installation. Purchased a Samsung Front Load washing machine with the understanding that Home Depot would deliver the new machine, remove the old identical machine and install and connect the new machine for which we paid extra. The delivery happened but the installers refused to install and/or connect the new machine. They said they couldn't put the machine on a Samsung pedestal even though we were told that was not going to be a problem. We proposed to have them install the machine on the floor and connect it. They said they didn't have the correct hoses to connect the machine so they would not install it. We sent the new machine back and cancelled the order and decided to buy a washer from someone else.

I have been shopping at this location for about two years, because it is the most convenient location for me. I've grown used to the low effort customer service I receive, such as associates walking by and not acknowledging me whether I look like I'm doing fine or not, and stock not matching listed quantity. I understand actual on-hand amounts may be slightly off for any number of reasons, but across every department and not always high demand products? All this being said, my most recent trip was by far my worst experience. I was looking for a specific light fixture, checked online, the system said they had 3 in stock at Oakbrook. Went to the store, because when I've done BOPIS it takes 3+ hours for even small items, and looked for it myself. Located it's home, empty. Checked the overhead, no luck. Checked the adjacent overheads, not there either. I didn't expect them to be there, but still wanted to give them a fair chance. While looking, at least 10 separate associates walked by but did not acknowledge me as I obviously looked for something. After checking the area, I asked a passing associate if they were an electrical associate. They responded no, but let me get one. I heard them call for one on the speaker system, but no one responded. More associates pass by. I stop a second one who has a stock phone, ask him to check if the item may be in another location. While he's checking, one of the associates that had passed me multiple times passes again, and the guy helping me stops him as he works in electrical. They both look for the item for a few minutes, which is the only positive aspect of this entire experience, then tell me the stock is likely incorrect and say that's all they can do. No offer to check other stores, not asking why I wanted the fixture they'd been looking for, just "can't find it, too bad." The only positive interaction I've had at this location, from start to finish, was with a temp cashier last winter, who did everything she could to help me find what I need and get checked out in a timely fashion. Other than that, the above interaction is the worst, but not drastically different from the average experience.

While I go out of my way to shop in the suburbs, this time I was very disappointed. I came to the paint department, since I usually have a good experience here. Today, I waited in line for about 35mins before someone worked with me. Not only was the employee extremely slow. He then came back to tell me they didn't have the base needed for my 5-Gallon Behr Silverstone color. I asked him if they could at least give me the same price of buying the individual 1-gallon buckets; as I would pay for the 5-GALLON. He said, we don't do that anymore. I was so frustrated I only bought 3-gallons of paint instead of the 5. But I definitely won't come back here, I'll just go to North Ave. or South Loop because those stores are usually fully stocked.

However, this store not only did not have what another Home Depot location showed me that they were supposed to have had 11 of, but I felt entirely unwelcome in dealing with the customer service team comprised of Ahrianne and her store manager, Cindy. Were it not for store associates Bobbi and Chris who bent over backwards to help me resolve my concern, I would count this store as a total loss. I have never experienced such indifference and disdain.

I recently experienced the worst customer service I have ever had. I purchased a large order through Homedepot.com and of all the items only two could not be shipped but were readily in stock at store #1982. I arranged for pick up there as I try to avoid going into public spaces unless I have to. What was to be a two minute stop, ended up being a 45 minute nightmare. For some reason the store cancelled my order but when the employee at customer service checked the records as to why there was no reason specified. Rather than offering to go get these items for me, I instead was given a piece of paper with two isle numbers, one for each item. One of those locations was wrong. Another employee kindly took me to where I needed to go and left me in the hands of four other employees who were from that department. Those four employees ignored me as they socialized. They were not talking about work. I finally found my item and went to go check out. An employee was directing traffic and directed me to register 4. After ten minutes of waiting when the cashier finished checking out the individual in front of me she then walked away from her register and went to have a conversation with the person who directed me to her lane in the first place. They were also not talking about work. I side stepped over to the line in register 3. After another five minutes of waiting it was my turn. The cashier walked away in a hurry as she apologized. I regularly purchase from Home Depot for work, and after today's experience I will be taking my business elsewhere. They clearly showed me they have no respect for their customers and are unwilling to provide safe shopping options in a time of COVID.

First of all, I would like to say that I had shopped at Home Depot before and never had this experience. But I recently had an encounter with a cashier, Ana/Anaise, that was appalling! I have never been so embarrassed and felt so belittled for not knowing the difference between different woods/lumbars. It was my first time trying to build a garden bed and the lumbar that I had picked up was in the wrong section. She could have told me politely instead of yelling at me infront of other costumers for not know that the wood was in and incorrect section. I understand that these are hard times with COVID but I still don’t think it acceptable to yell and humiliate a costumer who picked up a piece of wood that was placed in the wrong section in the store. She was extremely rude to me until I asked to speak to a manager about the situation then she suddenly started to act very nicely. I’ve worked in costumer service for years and I know that’s no way to treat a costumer. I’m only writing this because I would never want another employee to encounter this appalling experience in the future.

Don't bother putting in an order to pickup at the store. You will just have to wait while the team goes to get it. I gave the store a 7 hour head start and they still couldn't fill the order. The associate certainly did not care about making sure the product they gave me was intact and not leaking. The manager on duty was to busy to address my concerns. The cashier wore her mask across her chin, not covering her nose and mouth. No one was enforcing the mask rule in the store. As a result, I did not feel safe. Horrible, horrible experience from start to finish.
