Though the did not carry the exact item I was searching for, the employees were knowledgeable, gave advice, knew were items were located, and maintained safety and health standards during COVID-19.

The cashier Mary at this store, not only had me checked out quickly but when I asked if she could remove some straps that was keeping me from being able to use my ratchet strap she did not hesitate and got a pair of scissors to give me a hand. Without the help of the cashier I would've struggled to get my ratchet strap out of the packaging and actually use it there at home depot.

Had one of the worst return experiences ever today. Ron (cashier super) was my first contact. He stated that my items were not carried by the store. I questioned that but he insisted. He watched me find another cart, unload the lumber, all with no other customers there. I went and took pictures of the items with the same sku number as my return. Came back to returns. New person, GIna? She said, it must have been a computer glitch because Ron knows what he is doing. Now she could find the item in the computer. I did not have the receipt, so it was going to be a store credit. Then she told me I had returned too many items - no store credit. Could that be a computer glitch too? Finally I said could we try my credit card now since they found the items in the store? That worked. I had the feeling they thought I was trying to scam them. BY this time Ron was not around and I stated to Gina that I felt an apology should be forth coming. She said she was sorry I felt that way, but she hadn't been there for the first round of errors. We shop Home Depot and this location a lot. I have to say this has been very disappointing and not at all what is usual.

We love how helpful the employees in this store are! Upon thinking a purchase we were trying to make was hopeless, an employee overheard our discussion and jumped right in and said he could help! He did some research on the computer, made a phone call and suddenly we were getting the item that we thought was out of stock everywhere and unable to purchase till next summer! THAT is customer service!!!

I wanted to purchase a generator and charge it but didn't have my charge card. I went to the customer service and explained what I wanted. They were able to assist me. I purchased a generator and was able to charge it. No problems.

Sopped here since 2008 and never had a bad expereince.

We were directed to what we wanted to purchase. There was adequate stock in everything we wanted and it was well organized and clean. Dana, the cashier, topped our shopping experience off with a smile as she checked us out.

Excellent store with helpful and friendly employees. I never felt like a bother if I had a question, and their staff is knowledgeable and accommodating.

The help is generally good, only complaint I have, except the one I've explained, is you get a smile when checking out but returning something is different. They don't seem happy then. You don't get the same courtesy when trying to return, especially when you have to return something that was due to your own help that figured what items you'll need for your project, and there was extra left over.

Houghton lake Home Depot has very attentive employees right from walking in the door. Several people offer help. Though it is smaller than the stores down state, it has the materials needed and the service is beyond average

I appreciate the fact I can pick up a couple of parts that may fit a particular plumbing job, use the one I need and return the one I did not. They do this with total approval. This saves me much hassle and still allows me to be able to quickly get a job done when it could be a much slower process.

Here I am in Northern Michigan, wearing my Ohio State gear, and everybody was still friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful.

Great store and great people. I always get help when I need it and the store clerks always know where the product is.

We had to order the snow blower over the phone because our local Home Depot did not have the model we wanted. They were super helpful and held the machine until we could get to Houghton Lake to pick it up. When we got there the following day, they were so friendly and helpful. It was worth the 50 mile trip for us.

My husband and I needed a space heater. We decided to get the entertainment style space heater. When we entered the store we did not have a large enough cart. The staff was amazing at going to get us the flatbed cart and bring it back to us in the department we were in. The cashier was very friendly and kind. Mark who help us load the 150+ pound fireplace into our truck was very prompt and kind as well. We even made the comment to the staff that the Houghton Lake Home Depot dad is far better and kinder than the Staff at the Ann Arbor location where we reside permanently. Holton lake is our second home and we love coming up here because of the hospitality we received. Thank you.

I've always had great experiences at this store. As a retired professional I appreciate the pro's that are hired and willing to help with suggestions. Often a product has come out since I retired that works better for what I want to do and the personnel here have been great about helping with those things. I've never found an item I was looking for out of stock. I am sure there are times that could happen, but as often as I shop in this and the other three stores near me (West Branch, Saginaw and Alpena) it is very good that I very rarely see out of stock items. I help many of our local church folks with repairs and remodel when I can, so I visit far more than the average non-pro. I really appreciate the professionals hired to work in their specialty area. I've never been steered wrong by an employee at this, or the other three stores I mentioned. Also, being totally disabled, I often need help to load my vehicle. My boys help me at home and at my job sites, but cannot always be with me at the store. I especially appreciate the help I always receive from personnel for loading tasks. Thanks Home Depot #2769!
