I went to exchange two toilets that I purchased without a receipt for a different color. The gentleman working at the returns was SO rude. I told him I want to return but I don't have the receipt. Then he offered store credit which was $50 less per toilet than what I bought it for. Then he asked me if I have a receipt, even though I just told him I don't, quite literally, at least FIVE times. Then I asked if I can get store credit for the amount that I bought it for. Then, in response to that, he asked me AGAIN if I have a receipt, in a way that seemed condescending and passive aggressive. When I said I didn't for maybe the 6th time, he said "then no we can't give you a full refund." One of the toilets were open just to check the sizing, but never mounted. The employee insisted that it was mounted, AND USED, even though it never has been. He said they will not accept that return. The second toilet was never open. And that was very clear. It had the original tape and perfect packaging. Then, he STILL cut it open, inspected it, then said, "yeah this one doesn't look open." It goes without saying that I will never return to this Home Depot.

I have been shopping at this Homedepot for the last seven years ever since I moved here from Iowa. Always have had a pleasent shopping experience at this store!

The Christmas season is just around the corner. Need an artificial tree? There are plenty here to choose from. A couple of years ago I purchased one with lights. It is great. Don't forget about the animated figures that sing and some will move. Great to have at any age.

The store was clean and neat. There were plenty of employees around to help you. The ones I dealt with were awesome.

I went into Home Depot looking for a Christmas tree. I did not even know if I wanted a real or a fake Christmas tree. A young man named Alec provided wonderful service and helped me get a real tree. He was super friendly and helpful.

The store employee was so helpful and informed us that we could upgrade our Home Depot credit card and save big bucks. It was painless process and we now have a higher credit limit with our new card. He also told us how to save money on the garden section. We will definitely be signing up for that too! Love this store!!

Celebrate Christmas or not. You must see all of the Christmas items especially the singing and/or walking plush figures. Young and mature will enjoy them.

One of the best stores around. I wish they had more competitive prices unless they justify it by higher product quality.

I walked out super excited about appliances, sad I know ... lol Both guys were professional, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and overall good guys. I am not done with purchases and will return to this store even though I have one closer because of them!

Consistent high quality, great people, great location, returns are effortless, rental is very complete and staff are the best I have worked with. Home Depot maintains very high standards, but this store just seems better!

We made a big carpet purchase for our home and John Yoder was wonderful. He was patient, kind, helpful and answered all of our questions. He also helped us make our decision as we had so many questions about carpet, padding and quality.

This location is my lucky to go one. I always find the stuff, I go to shop for.The staff/employees are helpful and knowledgeable.

Very easy to do business with. I love ordering online and having the employee have the item and put it in the trunk of my car for me. It avoids me trying to find the items in the store during the Covid-19.

The biggest hurdle to a happy shopping trip is paying for the purchase. Why is it that 15 minutes of the 35 minutes I spend shopping, those 15 minutes involve standing in line waiting to pay for the items. Not sure why they have all those registers. They made a big investment in self check-outs, now those are closed. It's not like the store doesn't have employees working around, the just have too few cashiers.

Store is well organized and staff always professional.

The customer service at this store is TRASH! Do yourselves a favor and go to any other Home Depot but the one in downers grove.

I am not usually one to write reviews, but poor customer service really frustrates me. After loading a cart with bags of heavy gravel, one landscape timber and one paver (all located in the garden center) I attempted to check out in the garden center, as that is where all the things I bought were located and where I strategically parked. The cashier began to yell that I needed to go inside to pay. I expressed concern that I would be unable to push the heavy cart across the store, and asked if the register was broken. She said no it is working, but she is not allowed to scan any wood because she has asthma and would unable to scan my landscape timber. As a severe asthmatic myself, I thought this was a bit odd, but sympathized. I said, no problem I can use the other "self checkout register". She then said that I wouldn't be able to look up the paver so I couldn't do that and needed to go inside. I asked if another associate could come outside to scan it and she said, no that no one else was available. I asked if she could just look up the landscape timber on the computer and she again said no. I then suggested that she could hand me the scanner and I could scan the on landscape timber. I then said maybe another employee could help me push the heavy cart to the inside registers, and she said no. Determined that there must be a solution to this, I asked if she could call a manager. She yelled "NO GO INSIDE." At this point I began using the self checkout to scan my items and figured unfortunately I would have to leave the paver behind if I couldn't figure out how to scan it. She then started yelling at me and came out of the check out booth yelling that she can't be outside in the wind. She began forcibly coughing all over me and the checkout screen. She entered the code for the paver which took about 15 seconds. She exaggeratedly coughed throughout this process and still continued to yell at me. I finished my purchase and left. I am still pondering the absurdity of this experience and am a little also concerned for the employee. Since she is unable to tolerate wind or scan landscape timbers due to a medical condition, it seems like an odd choice to have her work in the garden center check out lane, which is outside and next to a pile of landscape timbers.

I had to return a countertop (or the receipt for a countertop as the Countertop Factory - Flora) refused to measure or produce the item. I went in upset after receiving great service originally from Reed, but found even more customer focused service from Janet O and Theaus. Theaus sought out Janet to help me return the item but then they worked with me right at the return desk to find a new way to get the countertop factory to do the work and do it right. It was a very good feeling to leave the store with a new plan and my refund! I am very pleased.
