I purchased two gallons of this product, the first had a very bad chemical smell at application, the second was not as strong. I used it to seal the walls of fitting rooms before wall covering installation. Had it tinted to match paper.

Works great but heavy duty smell

This might cover well but my rating is because there is no way this is low voc. Youll need to air our your house for a couple days.

I used Zinsser cover stain to cover up stains on my mom's ceiling caused from a water leak ftom her roof. It covered the stain after 2 coats of cover stain the stain was gone 4 day's l ater and no bleed through amazing. It is oil based so if you are to be using inside you will need to open up the house so it can vent while using. Cover over has a very strong odor. Thats my only dislike.

The only thing I don’t like is everything is perfect

Great for painting red wood lattices. Don’t use anything else to pint your lattices. This seals it up and you will never see the tannins bleed through.

Does a good job of hiding stain after a light sanding, smell is not too bad but should be done in a wide area. Had to add something to lessen paint lines.

I ended up taking it back I did not need it but I have used this product before now that it is a waterborne alkyd it's not as good as product as the original oil base one

Best primer for bare wood or peeling areas (after they’ve been scraped). Don’t scrape or sand paint on pre-1978 houses unless wearing a lead protective mask (the ones with the large round pink filters on each side of the respirator). this primer sands beautifully so you can use it to improve surfaces as well as priming.

Cover stain offers a great oil based primer at an affordable price for those hard to cover stains and glossy surfaces.

Got to have this. I use this quite a bit for doors, cabinets, etc. prior to painting. It does the job to give a professional look. Thumbs up!

This product really covers over old varnish! The downside is that you really need to pick a brush with fine bristles and you should be a competent painter since the paint will drip and can be hard to manage.

This is the best white primer on the market today. I use it for everything, interior and exterior work. It does have high VOC’s, but only for about 6 hours. We just open the windows and turn on a fan.

Excellent stuff. Really sticks to everything. My go to primer for all work. Not made in China so it works fantastic.

Getting very hard to find oil based primers, glad to get some.

Good news - It was okay. Bad news - it tended to thicken quickly in the cup and brushes could not be cleaned for re-use.
