They smell is too strong

The stain coverage was great but the fumes were really awful.

This product is not the same. I tried one more and it was a disaster. Normally would dry quickly and sand very nicely. Now it’s like it never dries out and gums up sanding blocks and paper. Ruined one of my jobs and I will never use it or another Zinsser product again.

This is an exc primer, but it is very hard to work with..The reason being, from what i was told, is that ithas a very high solids content...I believe they had to do this in order to keep an oiled based primer going...You will abuse your brush and wrist trying to spread t his stuff out...Do not apply it too heavy..Notice the coverage claims on label

It does its job . Just the smell gets you light headed. You need blower fans on site for better crew performance. Either than that everything else is great.

Strong smell but works very good

Really good primer, dries quick low odor

This primer goes on so thick it is almost impossible to get a nice finish without brush strokes. Even after trying to cut it with some thinner, it remained unworkable. It takes forever to “dry”, then is un-sandable without using 60 grit paper. AVOID!

I’ve had to use this stuff three times now. Twice recently, due to shortages of every other product. This took five days before it was sandable, even after three days it would roll up and come straight off. I used it on Oak cabinets, which took five days. They were properly prepped. The can was mixed. Next, because I wondered if there was a humidity issue, I primed some cedar and redwood with it, leaving it outdoors in the dry California heat (85* high, 65* low). After five days, it was still not sandable. There are better options, so long as they’re available. Do not buy this product. It’s hard enough to apply, and being oil-based, you won’t want to use any good brushes because they need to be cleaned with mineral spirits, which ruins bristles fast.

I used this product to cover the mold on the foundation of my fall and it worked really well.

We used it too seal 100 year old wallpaper and it did an excellent job! It was fairly transparent, which I didnt mind because I am covering the walls with new wallpaper. It does have a strong odor.

Over sanded stained cedar shelving went on easy, cover well!

this covers the bleed through from cedar wood but the paint odor is fairly strong

Although this product skins over quickly it takes a long time to fully set up and remains quite soft underneath for a long time. You need to do light coats which for it to dry which leads to a bad surface finish.

worked great! had neglected bare weathered facia that needed painting. one coat coverage. fantastic! as with any oil base paint, cleanup was a mess. i anticipated this and used disposable rollers and brushes
