3 months after the fridge was delivered the door handle cracked and become dislodged from the door. Whirlpool says "sorry, not covered" and i had purchased the extended 3 year warranty! VERY ANNOYING. Can not say that i will ever consider another Whirlpool appliance after this experience!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Your basic fridge - emphasis on basic. Outside design is attractive, performance is "does what a fridge should do", and availability of space is average, I'd say. Two definite design flaws are: 1) the open-bottom door racks in the freezer door, and 2) - the (cheap and weak) on/off switch for the refrigerator light (see picture), that protrudes like a fish-hook right on the side where you open the (left-hand) door, waiting to either ensnare an item being taken out of the fridge or the sleeve of an arm reaching into the fridge and then accidentally rip that switch right out of its socket. Unbelievable who came came up with that idea!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator meets and exceeds my expectations. It has plenty of room, and the clear glass shelves make "browsing" easier. This refrigerator stays consistently cold in both areas, no warm and cold spots. I love the lighting, it is easy on the eyes. Likewise, the freezer is very roomy, and the lighting is great. I am not so happy with the freezer door rails. They are set quite far from the shelves, and there is a substantial space. Packages of food (frozen veges, hotdog packages, frozen pasta bags, etc.) drop right through onto the floor. Still, this is a great refrigerator, and I am pleased with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this fridge for about a month now and I really like it! It's got ample of space and the storage features are very nice and convenient. In my personal opinion, this fridge is not loud at all. It cools and freezes very well, and since it's summer I've adjusted the temperature settings one above the recommended one. I'm totally happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for an efficient yet not too expensive fridge. PS: It looks great too! Since I wanted to organize my veggies and fruit a little more, I've added to small containers.

Great price and quality

We purchased this refrigerator from Home-depot. The freezer door can't be aligned evenly with the top of the refrigerator door. Whirlpool has a short video about removing the doors. The video is very short and not very helpful. We called Whirlpool and they asked us to schedule a technician, and they said if the technician determine that the refrigerator is not defective we have to pay the technician $97. Their webpage is not very helpful. Although I have used whirlpool appliances for the past 25 years, this will be the last time to buy any whirlpool appliance.

Is the best product and I recomend

I like the size of this one since we only have one fridge. I like the see-through shelves and the adjustable shelves in the main compartment and the door.

I like the refrigerator very much but I had to have the door hinge changed to the other side. After the installation tech removed the bolts, he had to pry the hinge off (it was stuck on with some sort of glue) and turn it over. The side that is now exposed is covered with a sticky, tacky glue that won't wash off. I'm not that tall so I don't see it, but any tall person could. Also, the protective film that covered the doors left a residue that won't wash off either. It looks like the acid rain damage you see on cars. (I can't get a good photo - to reflective) Mine is black. Maybe you wouldn't see it on a different color.I do wish there was a little more room in the freezer door shelves and that the freezer shelf was adjustable. But overall, I do like it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My fridge came in the house I bought. I have enjoyed my fridge overall but I am disappointed that it came without leveling screws and the freezer door shelves designed so that most things fall out of the door. Large gap.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The refrigerator keeps food very cold, even on the medium setting. Same with the freezer - on the medium setting items are frozen solid. Mostly plastic shelves, drawers, etc. I've gotten used to them. This unit replaced a 30 year old GE fridge. The older one was quieter. On a scale of 1 - 10 the GE had almost zero noise. I would rate the new unit at 1.5 out of 10. Can I hear it doing whatever it does, yes, somewhat. Is it overbearing...not at all. I would definitely buy this refrigerator again.

We must admit though, the only drawback is ,when shutting the refrigerator door, you must make a conscious effort to be sure the door is closed. All other refrigerator's I've owned all that was required to close the door was a gentle nudge and the door would shut and seal itself. With this if you just nudge the door as we have in the past it won't close. Is it possible that it isn't balanced properly? Is it something that should have be checked on delivery? 1. Door handle broke after 6 months. Had to glue it back together twice now 2. Door light switches get hit by sleeve and food items constantly - wrong location 3. Freezer door gasket deformed recently and icicles formed inside freezer from humidity. Had to pay $150 for tech to fix gasket 4. While tech was finishing the gasket repair mentioned to me that the Whirlpool product typically only lasts between 2 and 5 years on average!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] (1) because the door had to be reversed, the now exposed light switch on the side is subject to breaking (again, like the last one). Just because they tell you the door can be reversed doesn't mean the interior light switch can be switched to the other side as well. Lesson learned - the hard way. (2) the replacement (under warranty) refrigerator does not close automatically like the the previous one.

After numerous calls and much frustration we finally got a store credit (less than what we paid) and purchased a totally different French door whirlpool refrigerator that we are thrilled to finally have received. It was a nightmare to say the least. .

The temperature dial is not very well placed, after 2 days some of my produce froze on bottom shelf of ref. and could not find air control. The plastic used will never last. The shelf on freezer door is a poor design, the bags can easily fall thru the bottom. Both doors have to be pushed shut. My old GE lasted 22 years, I will be lucky to get 5 with this one. I taught Home and Careers for many years and have worked with a lot of ref, I guess I expected better quality for what I paid

We've had this refrigerator for seven years, now. Overall, I'm happy with its performance - it's quiet and has been reliable. The ONE thing that irks me though, is the use of plastic in the door handle. Both the original door handle AND a replacement handle have broken. (Not the handle itself, but the horizontal piece that attaches the top of the handle to the door.) Frankly, we are simply not hard on things and I believe this to be a design error. We have a second smaller Whirlpool refrigerator in our game room that, despite being a cheaper model, has held up beautifully.
