I bought two of these a couple of months ago. One is perfect, holds and dispense paint well. The second leaks paint from the black clips and drips paint after one squeeze of trigger

Why redesign something just to remove the optional splatter guard feature? Try doing a ceiling without getting the paint in your mouth and eyes. Should carry a warning label not meant for ceilings anymore.

Why would you change the design so the the splatter guard for the previous models won't fit. Even worse don't bother making one that fits this. Has anyone at Wagner ever tried to paint a ceiling without a splatter guard? Apparently not anymore if you design this useless piece of crap. Someone needs to lose their job for this poor redesign.

It worked great for one 5 gallon bucket for the ceilings, when we started on the walls we went through 2 gallons and then the trigger mechanism broke where it is now like the old paint stick where you manually push the paint rod.

I initially purchased a paint sprayer. I took it back, because my bathroom isn't extremely large, and I felt a sprayer would not have been applicable. So, I then purchased the PaintStick EZ Roller and was quite pleased. It made reaching high areas easier to paint. My daughter and son-in-law just bought a house a month ago and they are going to be painting the walls. We WILL be using this EZ Roller to make their painting job a great deal easier! And lastly, it makes painting not so much of a chore.

Have purchased 3 over the years. No drip. Saves effort. But the splatter shield is STILL REQUIRED. New can siphon design works fine without the can lid.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was really impressed when first used it to paint a small utility room in the basement. Was concerned that it would be messy to use and drip paint everywhere. My concerns were unfounded as it is easy to load and way to use with little to no paint drips or splatters. Not having to use a roller pan on a ladder And having to balance or support that while elevated pays for itself right away. Excellent quality and price point make this a no-brainer for those that either enjoy or need to paint. Coverage is pretty good. Had to reload three times. Reloading is a breeze too.

I even used it with a 5-Gal bucket, mind you that it only pulled the top 2 gallons, or so, but it still worked. Wish it had a tube for the 5-Gal buckets.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My project was a simple room with 10 ft ceilings. I used a thick paint, Behr Marquee One-coat, which can be challenging to work with because it is thick and dries fast, including when just sitting in the pan. The main thing I liked about using this was not having to go back to the pan all the time when rolling. It lets you roll out a lot surface a lot faster, but it does have a few downfalls as well. Heres what I liked: 1. Loading from can makes it really easy and mess-free. Tool cleanup is the only messy part. 2. No pan, so no frequent trips to get more paint on roller. Get more painting done faster. 3. Click control for pushing more paint 4. Quality construction - feels sturdy and every thing feels well built. Roller even seems high quality. 5. Appears as though it would last a long time. 6. Tool design keeps paint fresh and not dealing with drying in pan. Things i disliked: 1. Cleanup - plan on spending 30 minutes after cleaning, disassembly, more cleaning, lubrication, etc.. after each use 2. Pulling the plunger out to load paint makes for awkward length of tool especially in tight spots. 3. Can not be used with extension. Reach is limited. 4. Lots of unique parts to keep track of and potentially (costly?) replacement parts, including the roller itself being "special". 5. Add petroleum jelly to your tool bag to keep on hand for every use/cleanup. 6. Designed for use with 1 gallon cans. 7. Initial load requires a lot of paint to get any paint actually through the tool and on the surface. 8. Wasted paint - you can push paint back into the can from the stick, but a lot is left in the roller hardware and roller inards. I will be using this again, but it will have it's time and place. I probably wont use when I'm in a hurry or doing a smaller job. As quickly as this lets you get paint on the wall, it would be more convenient to use with a 5 gallon setup.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pleasantly surprised to use this as wanted to do a textured coated garage coating and this made it very easy and cleanup a breeze. I was not sure if it would work since this was thick but worked great and spreads even with standard roller.cleans out fine with only little staining in clear tube.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are currently remodeling and I have never been one who could paint ceilings well. I always make a mess and always seems to go everywhere. This roller made it so easy painting ceilings I can’t wait to paint another room. The handle made for easy control and paint flow. I never felt like I was stretching too much and not getting a good amount of paint on a wall or ceiling due to low pressure . I was able to get even control that I only needed to do one coat. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to make painting easier on themselves.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great tool, the second one I’ve owned. I used the first one for 8-10 years of heavy use, painted many homes with this tool. I fills quickly and easily. Painting with the paint stick allows smooth, even application of latex paints without a lot of splashing of excess paint. You can cover 5x the area of a traditional roller with a full paint stick. Clean up is simple and quick. I would certainly recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a review on the latest Wagner PaintStick EZ Roller. This is the 3rd one that i have owned. This is an amazing product the speeds up painting and leaves a lot less mess and clean-up than a traditional roller. Not to mention, no stools or ladders needed for a regular highth wall. Since the PaintStick holds the paint in the handle and uses a trigger to ratchet the paint to the roller, it makes painting a breeze. Differences from the previous model....oval paint tube compared to a round one in the previous model, making it more comfortable in the hands. The pull, to fill the tube, seems heavier duty, which is great. The design of the roller head attachment is easier to use and seems stronger. Also the design of the roller and how it attaches is a great improvement over the pervious model. Cons: The PaintStick is somewhat heavy when filled with paint. I find this bearable due to the ease of use. Be aware that the handle pull (to fill the tube) can be cumbersome and hit the floor. It takes practice. The previous model came with a splash guard for the roller head that the new model does not. Both models come with a fill tube that attaches to the paint can making filling the PaintStick very easy. I had previously purchased a lid for the paint can that the fill tube fits in which makes filing even easier. Over-all, i highly recommend the Wagner PaintStick EZ Roller.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The PaintStick EZ Roller worked exactly how it's name suggests. It was EZ to use and was a lot less messy than using a paint tray. By not having to dump paint in a tray the top of my can stayed clean and I saved a lot of paint that would have been wasted after drying to the tray. It made painting my walls and ceiling a breeze. Cleanup was EZ also!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used similar paint stick style rollers for over 20 years and this one is great with the ratchet style pump. Easy to fill, easy to empty. Clean up is simple with some dish soap and warm water for latex paints. Only wish it had an option for the fill tube for use with a 5 gallon bucket. May make an extension with a short section of hose when I need it.

I used this on a textured ceiling and the coverage was awesome. Clean up was super easy. Will definitely be using this on my walls.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Faced with an "annoying" paint job the arrival of the Wagner EZ Roller came at a fortuitous time - I am in the process of renovating two rooms - The biggest part of the job was installation of walls and ceilings with new sheet rock - Eventually these will need to be painted - The walls presented no problem and I had planned to use standard hand rollers for that part - The ceilings were the biggest problem - Faced with the thought of having to set up a ladder system, drippy rollers, location of the paint pan so it doesn't spill really had me dreading to do the ceiling part – But along came EZ Roller - I set the EZ roller up according to the instruction manual – The roller put together easy enough – I filled the roller with paint and started painting the walls first – Once the paint started flowing through the tube the coverage went on smooth with no drips – What was nice you did not have to bend down to fill a roller from a conventional paint tray and there was no worries about dripping paint when moving from the tray to the wall using the conventional method – I had eight walls to paint and while I can’t say the exact time it took – it was least half the time it would have taken with a tray and roller – Next came the ceiling – This involved a little bit of improvisation – I needed to extend the reach of the stick as the ceilings were 10 foot high – So I taped a broom stick to the tube and this gave me enough reach – The improv worked and doing the ceiling was made much easier – No ladders needed – no need to hop around the floor rearranging a ladder every time an area was out of reach – This alone made me very happy I was using the EZ Roller – I was overall pleased with the EZ Roller – it saved me time and effort and made a difficult job easier – The only criticism I have involves the clean-up – I have a deep slop sink which is needed to clean the parts properly – Also you need to clean out the fill area with a pointed tool to get out residual paint – I used a sharpened chop stick – To do a job the EX Roller was great – To clean it up was a chore – But over all I really liked using this tool -

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Assembly of the roller was fast and easy. I love how convenient it was not having to re-dip the roller every few strokes. What I did not like was the size of the handle - I have small hands, so the handle felt a bit thick and clunky but I guess that would be an issue for me with any roller of this type. Overall I am very happy with this roller.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love using the PaintStick EZ Roller. I don't have to keep running over to the paint tray to load more paint on my roller. It's easy to fill with paint and squeeze to load paint on the roller. It is a little heavier than the traditional roller, but not having to keep running to the tray and bending over saves my back. Recommend this product to anyone needing to roll paint.

I was pleased with how simple and mess free it was getting the paint loaded. Once the roller was primed, painting was quick and smooth. I painted a small bathroom which went really fast. The roller holds a lot of paint and covers a large area. It was great not having to use a paint tray and constantly have to go back for more paint (and not having to pour paint from the can). It went much faster than using a traditional roller and brush. Clean up was easy using a bucket of water. Great and efficient product that makes painting easier and hassle free.

I was afraid the filling process would be messy and I'd spill paint everywhere. seems like that was an unfounded fear. i painted a bathroom and bedroom wall with an accent color and was very happy with the process overall. any mess that I did make was less than i would've made with a traditional roller when moving from the paint tray to the wall. The paintstick roller did make the job easier and a lot faster. I had to fill it twice for the bathroom wall and three times for the bedroom wall. I would recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quick set-up, uniform coverage, and easy cleanup. I recently painted a medium size room and was impressed. Set-up was easy and the application was quick as I did not have to routinely pour paint into tray and wipe up drips. It was very efficient to fill the roller from stick’s reservoir. Eliminates stopping to load the roller and losing focus on the wall’s surface sheen. Clean-up was straightforward. Pro tip – Prep the roller by wiping with the sticky side of masking tape to remove all lint and any burrs left from drilling the holes in the roller tube during manufacturing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The EZ ROLLER was fairly simple to use. It makes roller painting easy in just a few steps. Using it I found that I do not need to keep going back to the paint pan every 4th stroke. I painted al most half a room before having to refill. Clean up was a breeze as well and only took a few minutes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best part of Wagner Paint Stick EZ Roller is that you can keep painting without reloading the roller every few minutes. I wish I had gotten one of these a while ago. Comfortable to handle drips are at a minimum.

There is no pouring of paint onto a pan and when you’re painting there’s no streaks or splashes. It only took me an hour to paint my granddaughters room. Overall I would highly recommend this product. Can’t wait to my next painting protect!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received everything that was supposed to be in the in the box. Putting the roller was pretty simple. I wasn’t sure if the spacer was supposed to be left in the roller or removed. The directions weren’t clear. I found out it has to be inside of the roller for proper operation. Loading the paint stick was very easy. I had to pull the trigger several times for the paint to load, but after that it only took a squeeze for several 8 foot roller sections on the wall. I rolled the walls of a 10 by 12 foot room in about 15-20 minutes. The cleanup took at least an hour because the roller, spacer, roller tube, suction tube and paint stick all had to be cleaned. This is a very good item for painting as long as you don’t have to clean the paint stick and components.
