A bit confusing at first, but well worth the effort.

Installation was a piece of cake. Love the way it works and is a huge step above the prior Velux shades I had years ago.

The Velux solar powered shades are great. Not only do they open and close well they do a great job of darkening the room. I highly recommend them.

Arrived in good condition. Easy to install. Have not used it yet.

The shades are nice, however they are not for operating skylights as described. You'll have to make a jamb to install the shade. A bit of extra work. The directions are a joke. I suggest placing them on a table and figuring out they go together before standing on a ladder with tools in hand.

The shade itself is a great product, the price is reasonable. The only negative , and it's a bit important , is the instructions . They are not clear and the there is no text to guide the installer. If you're relatively handy you'll be able to install correctly but if you're not , it'll be a bit of a challenge.

Blinds are well made and easy to install. (Caveat: you may need a second person to hold the blinds during installation. My husband tried to do it alone and the blind slipped and cracked. Our fault.) The instructions are clear. The blind really does darken the room, which is excellent. Grade: A.

Just what I needed. Straightforward installation and clean, trim, finished look. It’s unfortunately that tp purchase the three I needed cost me $450.00 but, hopefully they will last forever.

First off we have 5 Velux skylights with shades that are outstanding quality. Recently we purchased 4 each Velux 2 x 4 ft skylights with blackout shades. Quality of skylights is outstanding, but the Velux room darkening shades cannot be opened/closed due to broken pole attachment on shades.

This was easy to install and really makes a difference temperature-wise on our second floor. I'd definitely recommend it.

I bought this blind,not knowing if I could install it. My skylight is 12 feet up. It was very easy to do. really works well at blocking sun . still lets in brightness of the day, but not heat. Great thing to have.

these blinds are fantastic. they make the skylight so much more functional and energy efficient.

Assembly was a bit tricky on this item, and my husband isn’t exactly what I would call “handy” but he was able to get this new shade installed. What a difference this shade makes! It replaced a Velux light filtering shade, and now my son’s bedroom is dark as night even on a very hot and sunny day.

I am very happy with this solar powered shade so far. My 4646 skylights are on a part of the ceiling that is about 14' - 16' high, so it was easiest to install these shades from above. I do feel the required bracket accessory is silly-expensive and really should have come with the window itself.

Product came in ahead of schedule and installation instructions are easy to understand.

Perfect fit to the window. My window has some trim around it which made the installation a little more challenging but I got it in. Looks custom.

I bought 4 of these blinds ($168.00 each) for the FCM 2246 skylights that I had installed in 2011. When the installation instructions made no sense, I called VELUX. They informed me that I needed an adapter kit ($128 each) for each skylight. I agreed and asked how they were to be installed, and why didn't their website mention this. They then informed me that the adapter kits had to be installed from the outside which meant that the skylights would have to be removed. Funny that their website did not mention this either. I measured the interior skylight recesses in my home and determined that I could fabricate a frame to mount the blinds directly (without the adapter kits). The only thing I needed was the magic "clips that go click" which the website said came mounted on the FCM 2246. Wrong again! They do not come with the skylights. They did agree to send me 4 sets of the magic "clips that go click". I can now modify and mount those to my custom frame and go from there. These blind kits are attractive and the blinds themselves are white, but the website fails to mention that all of the other parts have an aluminum finish. Why not white? Hint...not everyone using your website is a contractor. Fortunately, I have the skills to make this work. I should have just hired a blind company to custom make something for me.

We bought this shade in white and I was worried it wouldn’t be room darkening due to the light color but it blocks out a lot of light. It was pretty easy to install and opens/closes smoothly. Look carefully at the product listing because the shades for VS M06 and FS M06 are not the same size.

The VELUX Mannual Room Darkening Skylight Blinds were easy to install and work fantastic.I would highly recommend them.

We were surprised that the white blinds have silver trim. During the daylight you cannot tell the difference but in the evening/night you can see where the valance and tracks are silver.

I have had my blinds installed for two days and so far I love them. The installl process was very simple despite only pictorial instructions. I do think written instructions should be added to install manual. Despite these blinds are of such intelligent design and only took a half hour to forty five minutes to install. The controller came preprogrammed to both blinds I ordered. This is a small but great gesture from the company that shows how dedicated they are to providing the best product they can to the customer. I ordered the blackout curtain models and they are as efficient as advertised. No light gets through what so ever. I am a very light sleeper and the slightest bit of light to enter my bedroom will wake me up. Today, my first chance to sleep since installing the blinds I was actually able to sleep in for the first time in a very long time. I will highly recommend this product to anyone who asks me about them.

I agree with other reviewers in you should watch the video. It took some fussing to get the side tracks in place. It was frustrating having to spend so much time on a ladder. Overall, product performs as designed and we are beyond happy to have the ability to block out the sun that was roasting us in our own bed!
