I am a 56 year old woman and did the installation of this in my basement. That meant over the head work. It was light and easy to deal with. Some of the pieces are pre perforated for easy tearing. In fact it could be torn without the perforation. Love this stuff. Beware when picking up, you will need a large vehicle/truck. 12 huge "bales" of insulation.

I thought that I would try the Denim Insulation on a basement project. I ended up with mixed feelings. While it is convenient to work with terms of making the size (ie. it it perforated for easy tearing), it was also pretty dusty when installing. Unlike fiberglass it doesn't itch, but it sheds a little more. It is also heavier than fiberglass, and therefore is challenging to friction fit, especially if you have a section of wider joists. I had to build extra support to hold it in place. It does a good job of insulating, but does not come prefabbed with a vapor barrier.

Title said it all: easy to install, pre perforations make it easy to size, can be handled bare handed.

I was going to use demim regardless because I didn't want to handle other materials. Having said that I have two disappointment. 1. It's extremely dusty 2. It must be shipped directly from the manufacturer when I order from home depot.When it arrived, some bags looked like they've been dragged behind truck for a mile.

Finally adding insulation to the attic and under the floor in this old house. The added sound dampening qualities are a big plus (living near a tourist attraction can be noisy). Carrying the insulation Up into the attic was less of a hassle since it was like carrying up a super thick sweater. Beware of the dust! It gets EVERYWHERE. Note that the perforations are Not consistent, and you'll have to make up the difference in some places. Can already tell the difference in temperature and quietness in the house. Also added a radiant barrier in the attic. Overall, Very impressed and pleased with this product.
