What makes this product nice is that you can install it over existing floor without putting down cement board this reducing installation time and floor height. Great product and easy to install. Looks great when grouted. Even put a heated floor under it..

Product is excellent as I purchased and installed in my home 2 years prior. The procuct received through Home Depot had 3 tiles (of 5 per box) that were broken in three of the boxes purchased. Since these were special order, I could not hand pick the product. It seems that with product that is expensive, snapstone would do a better job with packaging. Disappointed customer.

This is terrific for straight large areas. The preset grout lines really make it easy to lay down the tiles without spending extra time to put in spacers and continually make sure they stay in place. A couple things to note: the snap together feature while convenient takes a little practice, so make sure that you play with it ahead of time and you will need a soft hammer to ensure the tile snap together; when making cuts you will have to make sure that the snap grooves are properly lined up so that you can connect the cut tiles, which causes extra waste, so be sure to order extra; at the walls especially with small pieces snapping the tile in is challenging and you will need a crowbar or something to leverage the tile into place; last thing is cutting...the plastic snap cage on the bottom of the tile will wear down your saw blade and after a bit you'll need another blade so that when you cut the tile the cuts are clean and smooth.

When I was redoing my kitchen five years ago, I needed something simple that a first time DIYer like me can use for flooring. I came across snap stone and gave it a try. I found it in the right color. It was easy to install and looked great. The quality of tiles were really good. It has lasted five years without any issues. I would definitely recommend Snap Stone as a flooring option.

I ordered these online and had them shipped to my house. These tiles look NOTHING like described or shown in pictures. They are more taupe than grey. I returned them to my local store though with no problem.

We appreciate the review and the comments on your installation. There is a process for removing grout haze that is left over from the installation but the recommended method is to clean the haze off immediately following installation. More information is on our website and you can always give us a call at 877-263-5861. Thank you.

We're sorry you are not pleased with the actual color of the product. We do our best to accurately portray our product colors in print and media. However, due to limitations in printing and differing screen resolutions, the product images are close approximations to the real product colors. We advise making final color decisions based on the actual products. Samples may be ordered from the SnapStone website. Thank you.

I love my new Snap Stone kitchen floor
Snap Stone is perfect for installation on uneven floors, old floors, or in houses that tend to "move" as do so many in Jackson, MS., because it floats on top of the existing subfloor. It is relatively easy to install even for a DIYer, and comes now in new styles like the tile that looks like weathered wood that we installed in our kitchen. We now have Snap Stone in a bathroom, a large den that used to be a garage, and the kitchen. It looks fantastic, is easy to keep clean, and extremely durable. Thank you Snap Stone!

We're delighted to hear that you are happy with your new floor. However, SnapStone is not a Band-Aid for an uneven subfloor. When a SnapStone floor is installed over a subfloor that does not meet specifications, issues may result. so far so good
using in kitchen but have not had traffic on it yet. It went down pretty easy and know real problems. Cutting with a tile saw was pretty easy once in awhile the plastic / rubber on back of tile would bind up. The tabs on the sides are brittle and will snap off if handled to much with out taken care. I bought on sale so the cost I paid was ok. I do not know if I would buy at regular price. I bought on line and had to hope the color would be ok, hard to tell what it will look like when you get it. The one I purchased does not look like what I ordered but it was ok so I still used it. To bad they took the tile display out from the Home Depot where I shop.

              Defective tiles
All the tiles had white markings, as though something had been spilled on them. The glaze did not cover the tiles. Snapstone said this happens. It's called "blistering." I said it's called "defective." Home Depot agreed. Home Depot did not even want the tiles back and issued me a refund. My question: why did Snapstone ship defective tiles, and why did Home Depot pass them on to me?

              Response from SnapStoneSupportAug 25, 2016
We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your order. Latte has a repeating pattern of white markings that may have been mistaken for blisters (please see the Latte image) although blistering can occur very rarely. We will review quality control measures to ensure this is not the case. We're pleased to know that Home Depot addressed your order and, again, are sorry that you were disappointed with your order. Please let us know if we can answer any questions for you by calling us toll free at 877-263-5861. Thank you.

                Easy install
I don't recommend installing tile if you only have one bathroom and you live in the home during the installation. These were easy to install once we got the floor level. We just put down new plywood throughout. It's only been installed for one week and we already have two cracked tiles. One of them cracked after dropping the toilet lid on it. I don't know if normal tile would have cracked as well since I've never had tile before. I don't recommend shipping this to your home because the trucking company Home Depot used was very rude when I had to call them. They require you to be home for the delivery but nobody told me that until after they tried to deliver. We have recommended these tiles to our friends because they look nice and were quick and easy to install.

                  Looking good after four years
I installed this in my kitchen about four years ago. It was a DIY project. We were diligent about getting the wood floor underneath as level and planar as possible and that took the bulk of the effort. The snapstone itself was easy to put together and grout. Four years on still looks great.

                  Tiles not very durable
We were initially impressed with this tile when we installed it in our kitchen. However, despite the fact that my husband was careful to keep the subfloor deviations within the specified margin of error, we have had constant problems with cracked tiles. We do have a creaky old home, but we were under the impression that the flexibility of the floating floor made it ideal for that. We think the tile is just not the best quality. We dropped a glass vase on the floor and it shattered a large spot on the tile where it made contact. Didn't even crack the glass. So we definitely won't be buying this again or recommend it to anyone.

We're sorry to hear you have some cracked tiles. Unfortunately, yes, dropping items on the surface of a tile, or, installing over a subfloor that does not meet specifications, can cause any tile to crack, including tiles in the SnapStone flooring system. A floating floor does not allow flexibility over a subfloor out of spec. A floating floor simply means it is not permanently bonded to the subfloor. There is a repair process that allows you to replace the individual cracked tiles. Please see our website for information on subfloor specifications, repair instructions and a video clip of the repair process at www.snapstone.com. And please call us toll free if you have any questions at 877-263-5861. Thank you.

                  Great look but doesn't last
We purchased with the suggested under floor heating system and followed the instructions to the letter. It all went down very easily, and it looked great when completed. We allowed the grout to cure as instructed and sealed it appropriately. After we were able to start using the floor, the grout became dingy and dirty after only a few days. Within a month we had our first broken tile, but it was under a stool so we thought that caused it. Three years later and over 30 tiles are now broken, some to the point that they cut our feet. In addition, the grout has started to crack and come up. We called the company and they sent someone to investigate, but cracked tiles are not covered under warranty, and our floor is beyond variance, even though we followed and documented the process exactly as instructed. They did give us two cases and a bucket of grout for our trouble, but this fixes less than half our issue. Do not use for high traffic areas. Good for the mud room or laundry, maybe the bathroom, but find something else for the kitchen and living areas.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear you have cracked tiles as a result of your subfloor out of spec. Ensuring your subfloor meets specs is a critical part of the installation. Installing any flooring over a subfloor that does not meet specs will cause problems later on. For more information, please give us a call at 877-263-5861. Thank you.

                  Disappointed
We put this in about two years ago and we are pretty disappointed. It looked great and then we started seeing cracks, gouges from just normal wear and tear. The surface was gouged right off so you can see the white underneath. We don't wear shoes in the house. We have a dog and we thought it might be his claws, but this tile should be a lot stronger than a dogs claws. We have ceramic tile in other parts of the house that is many more years older, and that ceramic has never done this, and porcelain was supposed to be stronger. That is why we went with it. I think it is more of the top glaze coat that is a problem, and not the tile itself. .

                  Easy to install and durable
I used snap tile to tile an entrance hallway over a year ago. It was really easy to install. The nice part about the whole snap part is not only do you not have to worry about leveling and grouting, but you're guaranteed to get the tiles lined up right. When done, it looks like a very professional tile job but only took one day to do. My only complaint is that it is expensive per square foot. However, the tiles in my hallway have held up so far in a high traffic area of the house.

We're delighted to hear you are happy with your installation. Some floors may not require leveling and some may. Before installation, a straight edge should be used to ensure the floor is flat and meets installation specifications of:

For tile with all edges shorter than 15”, maximum allowable variation is 1/4” in 10’ from the required plane, with no more than 1/16” variation in 12” when measured from the high points in the surface. For tiles with at least one edge 15” in length, maximum allowable variation is 1/8” in 10’ from the required plane, with no more than 1/16” variation in 24” when measured from the high points in the surface, as indicated by the Tile Council of North America (TCNA) Handbook.
