The people who complain about about this grill have no idea how to use it. From day one it grilled perfectly. I love Weber grills. I just retired my Smokey Joe and upgraded to the Smokey Joe Premium. I RV full time and with the locking lid and no holes in the so ash doesn’t get all over the bed of my truck and I don’t have to use bungee cords to hold the lid on like I did with the Smokey Joe. I love this grill!!

Good charcoal grill for the money. The grate for the charcoal is too course if you use lump char coal. A lot of smaller pieces fall right through and don't get utilized for the burn. It is probably. O.K. if you use briquets. I replaced mine with expanded metal. Air controls are on the side and not underneath, giving you some control. You may consider drilling another larger air hole below the charcoal for better burn.

I’ve used it 5-10 times since I got it. I’ve smoked,seared, and grilled with no issues. People got to learn that this grill requires a little more maintenance to keep it functional. It’s a great downsize from the Master Touch when I’m cooking a small meal. Keep the bottom clean and airflow WILL keep your coals lit! Oxygen under your coal is key!

I initially just bought this to have a safe place to start additional Rapidfire chimneys for my travel Jumbo Joe, but found it was quite versatile by itself. Using one Weber 7402 Charcoal Bar, (unfortunately no longer made,) and a piece of foil to make a drip pan and direct airflow from the vents on the indirect side to the charcoal bar, I was able to easily divide the charcoal grate for two-zone cooking. The side vents make it easy to regulate the temperature (and provide a convenient way to run thermometer probes in,) and I had no trouble holding 250F to bring two thick pork chops to 135F internal before searing them on the direct side with the lid open. Perfect on the very first try!

Perfect size for 2 to 4 people. Coals are closer to the grate so the food sears perfect. Also large enough to do indirect with one coal basket. I own a 22” Master Touch also.

Been waiting a long time for these new Colored Smokey Joes, I love that we can still get them without the heatshield. A truly classic look!

Great little gril for everything, i cook outside every day. Have own every kind of grill made. Only grills I've owned that hold up is a weber.

This has been the best smoker I have used hands-down, my picañas and try-tips come out perfectly smoked every time, especially with the iGrill Mini temp. probe.

I've had mine for over 10 years. Have left it exposed to the elements finally the little legs rotted through buying a new one

…but after more than 25 years of frequent use and outdoor summer storage, I’m not complaining. After all that time and use, one of the leg joints has failed on the kettle body, so it’s time to retire it. I’ll most likely get the same model. I like the locking bale that lets you clip the dome lid in place for easy carry. The placement of the vents at either side, rather than lower down, like the other 14” model, doesn’t seem to limit the airflow, and means no ash-catcher tray needed. It’s too small for an entire chicken of any size, with the lid on, but cut in pieces and you can grill or smoke just fine. This a great small grill and I’m glad I got it.

This was my first crack at grilling over charcoal and it’s been so fun! Love the grill so far. I made salmon and it cooked evenly and had nice grill marks. Can’t wait to use it more!

This is by far the worst functioning grill i have ever used in my 25 years of grilling. It has great features and looks amazing but it is worthless. I would rather grill on a filthy grill at a park in Oakland Ca than this. The side vents instead of the original bottom vents make it impossible to keep the coals going. Does Weber think the coals can breath by putting the vents above the coals? The air travels above the coals and out the top bypassing the coals entirely. This is a product of terrible engineering and Weber should be ashamed of themselves. I have been a Weber enthusiast my entire bbq career and grilled on nothing else but this product makes me rethink my decision to stand behind a company who would allow this grill to be sold. I am ashamed to have this grill in my arsenal of grilling products. It literally makes me look like I have never grilled in my life and I'm embarrassed to cook on it. It's an expensive paper weight.

Great little grill. Sometimes you don’t want to fire up the bigger kettles. Perfect to take on camping trips. Or afternoon cookouts at the beach.

Great for slow cooking. And still have heat when you need it. This will last for years. Made in USA.

I was looking for another portable grill and decided I'd get the Premium Smokey Joe. Its easy to assemble. I put it together in less than 15 minutes. Used it 5 times before giving this review. I've made steak, chicken, shrimp skewers, and even pineapples. The coals stayed lit a long time. The lid locking feature is nice as it made it super easy to carry the grill. Only issue I have is the height. I wish the portable table was still available as this grill continues to be sold. Would be a great addition to the Smokey Joe & Jumbo Joe.

Bought this grill a month ago because I love the Ivory color, so elegant and I needed to replace my 1985 SJ that finally rusted through where the leg attaches to the bowl... Anyways, people have complained these so not get hot enough, I would have to say that if you add a full Chimney of coals properly lit and have both side vents and top vent open than they get hot enough to sear or cool bone in meats with ease. Personally, I always wrap the bottom grate in aluminum foil as well which helps with clean up and maybe also helps with the heat going straight up? I love that these so not have the bottom vent as it's so easy to move when lit if need be like when at the campsite or at the beach and you don't have to worry about hot coals coming out the bottom!

This is the perfect grill for quick meals. Combine it’s 14” grill size with the color and easy of portability and you have a winner all the way.

I have only used it once, so far. It was perfect for two boneless ribeyes, reverse seared. The steaks were excellent. The lid holder and vent slides on the sides were a big help.

This grill dosent have the feeling of being well made the cooking grate dosent fit well almost lost my food because it almost tilted into the fire
