Worked perfectly to help me strip old finish off of a wood table. I hooked the sander up to a 2.5 gal shop-vac and there which helped the sander vacuum up all the dust while sanding. Did exactly what I wanted it to, and at a great price. It takes the 8-hole sanding pads if your looking to buy this online. The item description doesn't explicitly say.

I bought this to replace one that I just wore out. It works better then the old one I had the dust collection filter works great also

I Have Had This Sander For The Past Few Months and I Have Been Very Pleased of it. I Use This Tool A Lot. Never Has It Felled To Do The Job I Used It On. Well Built and Feel It Will Be A Tool That Will Last. The Great Thing That makes me Like A Tool Is How Good it Feels in Your Hands As You Use It.

Once again I must say that Skil delivers great quality and value at a price that is easily accessible to anyone. Consistently, it seems to me that many far more expensive tools do not perform significantly better than the equivalent Skil tool. I so far own two of them and plan to buy more in the future.

This sander really did a nice job on my cedar porch that was brutally power washed by a contractor that did not know what he was doing! I had to do allot of sanding to smooth out my floor boards. This little sander saved a life! :-)

I have had this sander for about a year and used it occasionally for small jobs.  However, while doing some light sanding of drywall mud, it abruptly became nothing but a rotary sander, with an occasional loud screech as a sound effect. I stopped trying to use it, of course.  The motor runs fine, and the sanding pad spins relentlessly at high torque, with zero orbiting. 

Using my previous experience with Skil products I grabbed this sander when buying a new Skil jig saw. So far, I'm happy with it. Plenty powerful, and I love the pressure meter. It's easy to apply too much pressure and take too much material off. After watching the pressure meter a few times you get a natural feel for the kind of pressure to apply. That feature is excellent when teaching someone else how to sand a project properly. It does make more noise than other sanders of the same size. It may be because of the high RPM rate of this sander which also seems to be a bit faster than other palm sanders. Any brand sanding discs will fit and they are easy to change. The sawdust collection system works without issues, but you will have to clean it often on a bigger job. Hooking it to a vacuum is your best bet when building something larger and using this a lot. For the price, it's a great sander for almost all jobs. For sensitive sanding, you'll want a smaller and lighter machine.

I was using this sander recently to work on refinishing some kitchen cabinets and it does an good job. I had to stop when the backing pad fell off though. Just remember to use the right size sanding pads. It' 5'' not 4".
