Doesn’t fit Delta values made to fit in the wall
The original Delta face plate sits in the wall. The replacement plate sits proud of the wall. The screws are too short to reach the valve body. Even when I wsed longer screws, the top of the plastic plate doesn’t seal against the wall since the Delta screws are on the bottom. When I snapped the appropriate faceplate insert one of the tabs broke. After I got the faceplate installed neither handle works because there is no clearance to operate the handle

    Flaking and peeling
Almost immediately after installing, we. noticed the black paint flaking and peeling away. Less than one week in, it has gotten worse. Needs to be replaced. no harsh cleaners or abrasives have been used.

      Fits right and looks good.
Doing a remodel on my shower and tub and while my Delta valve still was good, I need to update the chrome pieces. This is just what I needed and the handles matched what I was doing on my sink as well. The only problem with installation was the screw was not long enough and we had to go buy one that was. I think this was a great value for one, but we had to buy two sets, one for the shower and one for the tub, so that became a bit costly. Still looks great and happy with what we have!

It did not line up with the screw holes in my shower and the contractor couldn't use it.

It does not fit properly and does not create a seal to the wall. I will be returning it.

Had old Delta chrome fixture and also had a new value system but would of had to install a access door to change, saw this updated trim kit and was very please with results. Needed to drill out the rusted screw on the Delta handle too. They don't supply you with a diverter push button to match but I see the diverter might be able to be remove and plug, (After that I could go with a tub diverter) Planning on removing tub and go with a walk inn shower and then will install the other new valve. If they gave you a plug or matching diverter would have given a 5 stars.

Perfect way to upgrade your old Delta shower
First off, I purchased this kit despite all the negative reviews I read here. I am in the process of remodeling our vintage 1980's guest bathroom and since Delta does not make a trim kit upgrade for their antique models, this Danco kit is literally the only option out there, without replacing the entire valve assembly. I knew going into this project that the Danco escutcheon was plastic (why that even matters to anyone I have NO idea…did you plan on bragging about your metal escutcheon or something???), and I understood this is a generic kit that is meant to update a few different Delta models, therefore some compromises may have to be made. Secondly, I am not a professional plumber or contractor. I'm just a weekend warrior DIY'er type, with what I would consider "slightly" better than average mechanical skill and problem solving ability. That being said, I had no problem getting this kit to install and work properly. After reading some of the problems people had, I will have chalk that up as installer error. The escutcheon plate, adapter, gaskets, sleeve, and dome/dome nut went on perfectly. Escutcheon sat flush on the tile, however I did have to use my old Delta escutcheon screws because the supplied screws are 1/4" too short. Due to the grout lines, there are tiny gaps that needed to be dealt with. I used some clear silicone to seal it, which is common practice anyway (DUH!!). The plastic white threaded grommet on the dome assembly needed to be tightened down quite a bit to prevent leaks. There is a special tool made for that, I happened to have one handy since I had just replaced the springs and seals inside the valve assembly. Not sure what it's called, but it came with the seal repair kit. I tightened it down so there was adequate tension on the ball, which eliminates a problem others have commented on in different reviews: the handle being loose and drooping down. HELLO!! It isn't Danco's fault you couldn't figure out that tightening up the ball keeps the handle from drooping! At any rate, the handle adapter went on easily, however I worried it would wiggle loose over time, so I used Locktite thread locker (the blue kind) on the set screw. Same for the handle set screw. I also used some clear silicone on the end of the handle adapter to make sure it didn't wiggle and felt solid. Turned on the water, checked for leaks. Nope, not a single drip. Been using this shower daily for a week and have not had a single issue. Overall, I think for the price, this kit is a good deal, and a great solution, considering the alternative is spending a few hundred $$$ on a new valve kit. I think the fit and finish are fine. Yes, the escutcheon is plastic, but its not the floppy, bendable kind. It's solid and well painted. It actually looks metal when its up on the wall. Nobody will ever know but you. The handle is heavy and metal, as is the sleeve and dome. I paired this up with Danco's tub spout as you can see in the photo. I did have to use an adapter plate on the spout (also made by Danco) because there was a 1/2" gap, but it all turned out well.

The gaskets in the kit are not watertight enough by themselves. Had to add sealant in several places to prevent leaks

Very good product. Unfortunately I will have to return this item because the hole in the wall in my shower is bigger than the plate, which is a mistake my plumber did. Thank you.

        Not many other choices
We decided to switch to black shower hardware. Did not want to change the plumbing, so this was the only option I could find. The old shower hardware was over 20 years old. The screws were too short and buying long black headed screws cost more than I wanted to pay. So I painted the heads of the exisitng screws and so far so good. We had the "ball" handle and switched to the lever handle. Works fine, just could not get the handle orientation to be vertical in the off position. Could be me. So it is not perfect visually. I assumed ball versus lever is the problem.
