Used thermal pad under our click lock flooring. The room is 10x warmer and a bit quieter too. The radiant blanket layer is really worth the extra $ over the traffic master thermal pad. You can see the difference in a sample

Do not use for applications under ceramic tile. It flexes and breaks the grout, and we had to rip it out as a result which was extremely costly. Very poor instructions for this application. Go with other brands that are specifically designed for using under tile.

We bought 2 500 sq ft rolls and a 250 sq ft roll of the SilentSilver Thermoquiet underlayment. What arrived was a new design of the underlayment that is totally different from the Amvic Youtube video that demonstrates the installation of this material. The paper tape covering the glue strip was on the opposite side of the roll. We finally determined that we had to start the job laying the material from left to right, not right to left that was described in the video. In rolling out 25 foot lengths, we could keep one side straight and taut while the other side had rolls making it impossible to lay flat. We tried using extra double sided tape but on some lengths we had to slice the roll where it was badly "bubbled" up and removed a section of the material to get it to lay flat. There were no instructions for installation with the material. The web site had no help and no one to contact. We have no experience with other brands, so we don't know if others are just as difficult to work with. The finished floor was a good base to put our laminate flooring on. We think the company needs to update the Youtube demo and supply some instructions and look into the quality control of their product.

I bought this underlayment for our living room. It's over the garage, and I could feel a draft coming from somewhere in the floor (I think) this past winter. We just put in laminate flooring, and thought that this product would help us keep out the cold. We won't know if it really works in a cold barrier capacity until it starts to get cold, but it is definitely thicker than the foam underlayment we have used in other parts of the house. The only thing that I wasn't crazy about was the smell- kind of like cigarette smoke. Luckily we can't detect the smell through the laminate floor. One other thing: Be careful walking on it with sneakers while putting down your floor. It rips pretty easily. We did one row of underlayment, covered it to almost the end before putting down the next row.

Thermoquiet was easy to lay down, and taped it to existing flooring. You have to be careful when walking on it as it rips easily. With the laminate floor on top seems to be working well with respect to noise and comfort. Thermal barrier seems to make a bit of a difference with the cold coming up from under the floor.

I bought this primarily for its soundproofing claim. The overview says it has an STC rating of 66, which was hard for me to believe. That is practically an underground bunker. But for the price per sq ft, you can't beat that if it were true, given how extraordinarily overpriced all soundproofing materials are. I thought maybe it was some space-age, proprietary material. There were many reviews confirming it can be used in walls, as the instructions for the product also say is fine. I rolled it onto the wall, applied with glue, being sure to burnish all the air pockets out with a roller. I also stapled it to be sure it wouldn't ever roll up over time. The appropriate edge with the flap was layered over with the above row, as it says in the instructions to do. I even had those edges overlap like lap siding about half an inch. It was tight into every corner. Once the wall was finished I was eager to test it out. The four upstairs rooms in my house each have - or had - an identical shared wall as far as how they were constructed originally. There was no change in sound transmission when I tested it with TV, radio, and someone talking against the original wall framing. Zero. Super disappointing, but I'm glad I at least gave it a shot. Hopefully it does something in there as far as the product's other claims, but the STC 66 rating doesn't seem to be truthful. Maybe it just stops sound in floors, which makes sense because it just looks like a yoga mat or a big roll of wetsuit material. Maybe I'm ignorant of the variables in how this rating is arrived at etc. I'm open to being corrected. But just beware: if you're buying this thinking it's a rollout soundproofing underlay then that, my friend, it is not. I really wanted this product to work. I do remodeling and had been telling my boss about this stuff. On that note, if someone else has a better recommendation for this type of product, I'd really like to find one still. Thanks!

Very happy with this. It's easy to apply, it comes pre-taped, and it GREATLY reduces reverb between my new wood floor and the concrete slab it lays on.

I cannot recommend thermoquiet on concrete. The tape strips were useless. Installer tried heavier tape recommended by Home Depot finally gorilla clue kept it down long enough to use mortar to secure the tiles. It's still not a solid fix for some areas. Holidays were to close.

First off, shipping was much faster than quoted. Awesome!! Second....how can you beat a product with an RValue of 3.1 in an 1/8 inch? We used this product on the walls of a camper trailer for added insulation and a vapor barrier since we use it in the cold winter months. I have no doubt it will help keep us warmer and will help with the condensation that we run into with the temperature differences between surfaces. My one wish is that this would have actually been carried in a store, but again with the quick shipping, it was quickly forgiven. I bet they would sell more of this stuff, though if people could see it for themselves in the store.

This product seems to do what it was designed to do. I only have two issues with it. 1- When I lay the product on the floor, it curls up because the manufacturer rolled it up so tight it was difficult to lay it flat. I had to lay some flooring on it and staple in a few spots. 2. When I first felt the product, it thought it was very durable. I was very wrong, my shoes ripped up the product in a few areas. Had to install the rest of the room with socks.

        Very Nice Underaly
Installed on concrete in a basement under laminate floor. Area to be used as a home gym and Yoga room so we wanted the R value offered by this product. Went down very well. Purchased a 125' roll and a 25' roll to minimize joints. Laid one length at a time, installed laminate as far as possible over the laid down section before installing the next length. The material will damage if you walk on it with shoes, that is why we laid down one length at a time and just walked on it in sock feet.

Looked at many, this had everything I wanted.
We had not thought about underlayment when considering hardwood flooring. After much research, I knew what I wanted and found it in the thermoquiet. It was a little more expensive than the plastic sheet, but was so easy to install and gives us a little more insulation in the floor. We also have pets, so the barrier to spills etc. was important

          Pretty good stuff
Easy to cut and lay. Only two problems I had with it was that the top blue layer tears very easily, so just be careful when you walk on it. And secondly, but most importantly (to me) there was about 10-15 feet on each roll that couldn't be used because it was all jacked up. Separated layers and bunched up layers from the manufacturing process, but other than that it seems like pretty good stuff.
