One of the main problems with some connection systems is the small leak when the water is turned back on. I've been pleasantly surprised with the ease and reliability of the sharkbite system. No leaks the first time. Saves me time and frustration and it just works. Yes I recommend.

Valves leaked out of the stem

Easy to put on and works very well. I used sharkbite and cupling to fixed my old house water line. It made it so easy.

As far as assembling copper pipe and fittings, it's works easily. This is my first time using these connections so the future is when I'll really be able to give a more accurate review. I'm hoping that there won't be any leaks. I was surprised that the connections still turned once assembled. But for now, it doesn't leak, it assembles easily but it's way more expensive than soldering joints that are more affordable.

Easy to install works great

These are not as easy as they say. Maybe it would have helped if there were some detailed instructions in the package. Even the internet instructions were not that great. You need a 'disconnect clip' to complete the installation and that is not mentioned. Also, I had to install this shut off valve on already installed pipe, which had no give at all. Very difficult. If it weren't for the help and physical strength of my daughter, I would still be fighting it. Took 3 hours and 2 ball valves since one got broken in the process. Once we got it in, all was good but.... not a walk in the park by any means.

It leaked at the base.

I've come to heavily rely on SharkBite ball valves when replacing plumbing in my 90 year old house. For what little extra it costs, I save in installation time. Never had a leak problem.

Easy to install, just insert your PEX pipe on one end and screw in the other side.

Great product if soldering is going to be difficult. I had several communication wires right behind the copper pipe that could not be moved. I didn't want to overheat them with the torch. I don't have any leaks and the shut off valve works great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] City is changing all water meters. Because of the 1 foot clearance it was harder to cut out and remove the old shut off tap, but install the ball valve 1 minute !! Always keep a few on hand for the unexpected leak!!

After a week of trying to repair an out of service plastic shut-off valve, my local hardware told me about the SharkBite. My old plastic supply lines were smaller than the standard replacement fittings. That frustrating week of trying to stop a leak around that old size pipe using hoarded old fittings, compression, first the purple stuff, then the glue, now tape...now putty...self made washer, o-rings almost drove me to insanity. When my rep told me that the SharkBite would adjust to my ID/OD with one push, guaranteed, it sounded too good to be true. IT WAS THAT EASY. Cutting off the section I'd been working on was the hardest part. The SharkBite simply pushed on and no leak. I was amazed and could not have been happier!!! It worked, it really, really worked with one push. No tape, no putty, no leak!!! Homeowner repairs made simple!!! I'm sure my local professional plumbers don't want me to talk about this, but I'm telling all the neighbors who have the outdated supply lines. Thank you for this product!!!

Bad product did NOT stop the water flow, just reduced the flow in the off position. And

Push-to-connect allows you to transition from NPT to copper or pex. Also have never had any problems with them.
