If your grass is dying due to heat or drought, this product will not work. When grass is dry or drought-stressed, the grass is no longer taking up nutrients but is instead dormant. We recommend watering the lawn thoroughly for a couple of days prior to using this product and also ensuring the temperature is not above 85F when you apply. If the grass is totally dead, you may need to reseed those areas.

The most common reason a lawn does not respond to fertilizer is soil pH Soil pH must be between 5.5-7.5 for fertilizer to be absorbed by the grass. We recommend performing a soil pH test. If the lawn isn't receiving at least 1 inch of water per week then the lawn will not green up as fast. When mowing do not remove more than 1/3 of the grass blade at a time. A stressed lawn will not green up with the application of a fertilizer.
