Bought 2nd set thinking i broke the lock, nope not buying this again!

I have had this for 60 days and it is rusting or falling apart. I'd like to be contacted by the company to understand if this is typical or if they'd like to replace my lock. So far the lock works but it's only been 60 days. I want to love this but if the outside is crumbling what's happening inside?

Lock works great so far, but finish on the brass plate had many plating defects (dark spots). I already had it installed so I didn't want to return the whole unit to HD, I tried contacting Schlage to see if I could get a replacement faceplate (non-button side) but they did not respond.

I installed this Schlage lock on door between the garage and kitchen, so this door and lock is used a lot in my house. The install was easy, taking about 5-7 minutes. I like that I physically throw (turn) the deadbolt lock so I know it is either locked or unlocked as opposed to pushing a button and letting the lock turn the deadbolt. The combination(s) are easy to program and my other family members much prefer to use this lock than a conventional keyed lock. We are very pleased.

Locksmith Installed BE365 about a month ago. It failed. Battery voltage ok. Troubleshooting performed. It won't lock or unlock with keypad. Email and phone calls to warranty go unanswered. I'll try to take it back to the store under 90-day return policy. What a pain.

This is great to install on every home or access point. Perfect for seniors everyday and especially for emergencies...you can program multiple unlock codes and change them anytime... one for personal use, another to give to a 911 dispatch, another for a neighbor or housekeeper. And on doors so you dont need to remember your keys all the time

I cannot get in my home half the time someone has to always be there because the lock does work after a year of having it. You been warned!!

Easy to use and easy to install. Bump proof. Easy to clean finish. If you have a hard time programming there are several you tube videos.

Works great , battery last a long time, because it doesnt move the dead bolt instead you do. Definitely my favorite part. Only issue is my door faces west and the finish breaks down over time. I only replaced it after 5+years because we have a new door and handles. Picture is the old one new matches nearly perfect to the door handles

I bought this model and the matching door handle set in 2018 as a replacement for door set that was on the house when we purchased it. The only drawback to this unit, is that when the battery gets low, the locking mechanism begins to not work so well, hence you may need the key. Other than that, this product is wonderful and works well. Plus, I love the ability to add and delete passcodes when we have guests.

Bought this item over a year ago after 6 months the mechanism started to fail, after a year it does not work at all so I have to use the key to get inside. Defeats the purpose of of keyless entry.

I install these for my customers that are looking to upgrade their security. And teach them how to program the locks before I leave. I have one on my house as well.

Paid extra for the name, however the lock stopped working consistantly within 6 mos of installation. The lock cylinder spins in the lever, and doesn’t always engage the deadbolt so the key must be used....very frustrating!

Works well and looks great. The fit is larger than traditional dead bolts, so highly recommend just getting a new door if you’re changing hardware.

The Schlage electronic deadbolt is really nice so my wife doesn't have to go fumbling through her purse for her keys. The key is a little bit tricky to unlock, it must be in the straight up and down position, then after pushing the key in, you turn it until it sinks in, then you can turn the thumb-latch from the outside. Really neat after I was shown how it works.

I purchased (2) June 2017. Family Loves the Lock. Problem after 1 yr. Punch code, try to open, only partial engage deadbolt, had to try 3-4 times partial turn each try until open. "key; however works all the time. (defeats the reason to buy this type.) Electronics fine. Close inspection after removal noticed center spindle "loosie-goosey" Really loose, The metal spindle did not appear to be made from some high quality steel.?? That said, 2nd lock same "exact" failure, at two yrs. Contact Customer Sup. Very nice, quick replacements, both occurrences. However the 4th lock was deflective out of Box, this time electronic issues. So I was going to call to see if they would replace this 75% failure rate with a more expensive model? Is there a "lemon law". (3 unit failures out of 4) 1st replacement works great. Still love the lock.

Just installed it about 5 days prior on my front door. So far, all is good. The installation only took me about 30 minutes after reading the instructions. It's nice not to have to dig for a key each time I leave or enter my front door. It works off a 9 volt battery. It is suppose to alert the user of a low battery, however, I've been unable to determine what the alert is, e.g. a flashing light or audible beep. I'll have to do more research. The deadbolt lock does have an external key option which I've tested and it works. The numbers are NOT lighted which makes it a little difficult to see in low light conditions, however, the individual numbers are raised. This lock can't be used with a telephone app. Also, some electronic deadbolt door locks will automatically lock after about 30 secs. This particular lock does not have this feature, which I like, since I don't want to step outside for a minute or so and then have to enter the key code just to unlock the door.

The one thing you need to understand. This is a deadbolt lock. I bought a matching handle (matches the lock) for my front door. We have had zero issues with it in 5 years. works great. I don't like fumbling for my keys eech time I an leaving or coming home. It's nice for my kids too. No key needed. Yes, I recommend it.

I bought this after my daughter was locked out of the house one day because she forgot her key. We have a spare key in a lock box but she wasn't aware of it. I thought by using this we could avoid copying keys for relatives. I ran into multiple issues during the install which were not addressed in the manual. I wish I had the time to read all of the reviews here online before making a purchase. I would have saved a lot of time. Overall I'm happy with the product but I wish the installation process was easier. I like the color as it matches the doorknob and the wooden door and trim. Overall this took three days of on/off work and four trips to Home Depot. 1. Had to make the hole bigger. The original hole was 1 1/2" in diameter. I had to go back to the store to get a 2 1/8" hole saw drill bit. 2. Had to find a YouTube video to figure out how to use the key with the lock. Nothing in the directions about the key operation. 3. Only one of my keys would work with the lock. I had the lock re-keyed to match my other Schlage locks and I realized I used a copy of a key. That copy would work in this lock and my other locks. The other keys I had wouldn't work in this lock. I had to have the lock re-keyed a second time with an original key. 4. Home Depot only had one person who could re-key these locks. I waited an hour for him to arrive to help me. I had him make me multiple keys and tested all of them when I got home in this lock and my existing locks. I recycled the copies. 5. After getting the lock installed I tried to close the door and found the twist handle was hitting the handle for the storm door because the handles stuck out too far. I had to rotate the storm door handle 90 degrees so the house door would close properly.

I like the push button entry. It makes it easy to get into the house, especially at night. It gives me a sense of security.

I've had two of these now. I purchased the first one and within a year it stopped unlocking using the keypad. The knob will just spin after entering the code without engaging the lock. Schlage warrantied the lock without any hassle. The second one they sent me stopped working the same way the first one did again within a year after installation. I have submitted it for warranty now. Don't waste your time with this lock. There's better choices.

This lock looks great and works very well. It was easy to install in just a few minutes. I had this re-keyed at the store to match my original keys. That was also great. I liked the option that you manually turn the lock after the electronics activate the function. I think this will save on battery life, since the battery doesn't have to move the bolt. You just remove the two screws on the inside faceplate, replace the battery and reattach the faceplate. The keys are large and spaced far enough apart so you don't accidentally push two buttons at once, or the wrong button. The keypad works great and the buttons press very well. It is very easy and simple to lock and unlock. Batteries are easy to replace. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Why did I wait so long ? The best purchase ever ! I recommend everyone to buy !!!

Easy to install. No fuss with keys. I have 3 exterior doors and they all have this lock. Took less than 5 minutes to install each.

Love this lock and the fact I don't have to carry a key. This is our second lock, same model, just updated. The first one lasted us 10 years before it had any issues. The finish is durable and looks great.
