I gave this rug 4 stars due to the fact it is hard to clean, can only hold up to light use and in my opinion sheds excessively (it would not be good around small children). All that said it is a very unique rug that adds a lot of pizzaz to the room. Style and impact took priority over practicality.

The actual color is not light blue and it is DEFINITELY not the color shown here. The chemical smell is so strong that I can't keep it in my bedroom.

Would not place it on the floor for walking on...but...used as a wall hanging, it is a wonderful and unique decoration.

I purchased this rug to use under the coffee table in a den with eclectic decor. `I've read reviews on other sites which indicated the leather strips tended to come loose, and this was true - as I unrolled it there were indeed a few detached pieces. I saved them and may see whether it is difficult to reattach them, but I don't anticipate it being an ongoing problem because the rug won't be in a high traffic area. It's really just for decoration. I like the slight variation of color in the leather strips. I didn't notice any kind of odor (which was another thing I've mentioned in reviews on other sites). I imagine it might be tricky to clean - but in my case this shouldn't be an issue. I loved having free shipping, and the rug arrived sooner than I had anticipated.

The 8 x 10 rug is very unique. The leather "shag" is a great look and it feels goof to walk on. The only downside would be the fact that it has to be shaken out since vacuuming is out of the question. I love it and would recommend this to anyone who wants a ranch style look.

I'm saying yes I would recommend, but with exceptions. This rug is beautiful and my students love it. However, the shag pieces come out waaaay to easily! I expected them to be attached more securely. If you are going to have this rug as a decorative piece only, it is great. If you are looking for something to put in a high traffic area or an area that will be used frequently, know that the leather pieces will come out easily.

Got this rug for my living room and I love it. The leather pieces do fall off a little but that's to be expected since its shag, I definitely wouldn't let that make or break my decision on buying it. Super trendy!

Horrible rug. I bought it for the look and the idea of how this would look. unfortunately there were no reviews to warn me. This rug is a total disappointment. The leather pieces are all falling apart as soon as you get it out of the plastic. there are some pieces that have oil, some that have tags, some that are orange, so it looks like it has been in use forever. I am taking mine back. As much as the pictures make it look good and the great price, I will say to stay away from it.

I ordered the rug in black and it's really nice. Cool, funky, design of random leather strips. Definitely a conversation piece. It took a week for the leather smell to wear off. That happens with leather so I expected that. A few of the strips have come off however, the design of the rug makes it hard to notice. I put mine under my living room table so it dosent get near as much foot traffic. The only way to clean it is to shake it off so putting it in a low foot traffic area is best. I actually ordered the same rug in another color from a different company for 350 and it's waaay nicer but more expensive. This one bangs for the price of 175!!! Overall, I highly recommend it.

The runner had a great contemporary look, but was not what I liked once I had it in person. A few leather pieces have come out of the rug (believe they were tied onto the braided base), it had a strong leather chemical smell, and some of the leather pieces had old paper labels still stuck on them. I suppose I should have expected some of what I saw but didn't, so I sent it back.
